Five times Rangers waster Alfredo Morelos slouched around hating his job

Morelos is such a spoiled brat he even collects bags of food for children in poverty according to Old Firm Facts

Like many, I awoke this morning to the shock news that Alfredo Morelos was a waster and a spoiled, angry brat who slouches about hating his job.

I know, I was surprised too. It turns out I’d imagined the joy he takes in scoring for Rangers , and the ruthless efficiency he displays in front of goal. If he really does hate his job, scoring 28 goals in just 35 games must be a living nightmare for him.

Was this all predicated on the idea that a 23-year-old who had escaped extreme poverty and was adapting to a completely different culture had trouble remaining calm when confronted with taunts from opposing fans and players? The fact that he didn’t wear a big smile while being denied on several opportunities by a superb goalkeeping performance from Fraser Forster? It’s hard to tell, but I was determined to get to the bottom of it.

With that in mind, I’ve done a bit of research and discovered five particular moments when Alfredo Morelos WAS a waster and a spoiled, angry brat who slouches about hating his job.

1. BENEFIT MATCH IN COLOMBIA

As soon as Rangers’ 2-1 win over celtic was finished, Morelos jumped on a plane to Colombia to take part in a benefit match. Having set up the Alfredo Morelos Foundation to help deprived children like the spoiled brat that he is, the striker arranged a charity match for a crowd of over 7,000 in his hometown of Cerete.

According to sources at Glasgow Airport, Morelos SLOUCHED around in Departures and WASTED time looking at the classic rock magazines in WH Smith before deciding he couldn’t justify spending a tenner on a magazine about Led Zeppelin.

2. HANDING OUT FOOD PACKAGES IN DEPRIVED AREAS

While in Cerete, Morelos visited some of the town’s most deprived areas and handed over bags of non-perishable food that had been collected during the charity match, just like a spoiled brat would. He then WASTED the locals’ time by posing for photos with them.  In one of them, he isn’t even smiling. I mean, he might just be screwing up his eyes because of the sun BUT STILL.

3. BREAKING A EUROPEAN GOALSCORING RECORD

When Morelos reluctantly secured Rangers’ place in the last 32 of the Europa League with a goal against Young Boys at Ibrox , he set a record for the most goals scored before Christmas in a European competition. Accumulating his haul of 14 goals in 14 games must have been unimaginable agony for a man who hates his job.

He even had the AUDACITY to claim “It is amazing to find out that I have broken this record” and “To score for Rangers is always really meaningful to me and I love playing in big European matches here”. “Amazing”? “Really meaningful”? “I love playing”? Guess we can add LIAR to his list of crimes.

4. CHRISTMAS GIFTS FOR CHILDREN IN POVERTY

When the Libertines released ‘What a Waster’ in 2002, Morelos was only five years old. When you read this next story, though, you’ll be left in no doubt that the young Colombian was who frontman Pete Doherty had in mind.

Is there anything that so clearly shouts ‘WASTER’ as spending several years delivering toys to children living in poverty at Christmas? When over 300 children received toys on Christmas Eve thanks to the Alfredo Morelos Foundation, their families must have been cursing the spoiled brat responsible.

Maurico Charraasquiel, father of a boy who received presents from Morelos, was clearly being sarcastic when he told the Daily Star: “We are grateful to him (Morelos) for the action he is taking with the children. In return, we wish Alfredo many blessings and continue to represent our municipality well. I want my nephew to become like him”.

Some pics of Morelos slouching about, hating his job.

5. WRITING A COLUMN COMPARING A PLAYER WHO’S MADE SOME GESTURES TOWARDS OPPOSING FANS, HAD DIFFICULTIES WITH HIS TEMPER AND DIVED DURING A GAME WITH A PLAYER WHO HAS BITTEN OPPONENTS AND RECEIVED AN EIGHT-MATCH BAN AFTER BEING FOUND GUILTY OF HAVING RACIALLY ABUSED PATRICE EVRA, WHILE ALSO LABELLING HIM A ‘WASTER’ AND A ‘SPOILED, ANGRY BRAT’ WHO ‘HATES HIS JOB’

Actually, ignore that last one. Turns out Morelos is the subject of that column, not the writer.

Well done Old Firm Facts and Glasgow Live for publishing this article. A truly well researched and well written piece.

Others, take note.

I find the most dispiriting thing about the attacks on Morelos is that he seems like a really great guy. He's done so well to get to where he's gotten to. He's on the cusp of really achieving something amazing and he's been made out to be a horrible person. Purely due to the hatred of the club he plays for.

Bigotry at it's worst.

All this is fine but we need a response from Rangers. Stating the sun is banned from Ibrox. Then possibly morelos taking action against bill and the editor.

Don’t see how anyone can take action, the really offensive stuff is just opinion. Alfie scoring another 20 goals and lifting the league trophy is the appropriate response.

That would certainly do the job, meantime  a concerted campaign to encourage any of the support from (heaven forbid) buying or visiting the Sun website would be a bonus. The bottom line is money talks and the only effective way to  influence, with an aim to ending the vitriol towards the club is to hit their bottom line...

We should just ban them. Don't even announce it until some no-mark from the rag turns up at a press conference and then tell them to fuck off.

My sentiments exactly mate.

Very good reply to Leckie's pish though.

Much as the article is a disgrace, I don’t think it’s worthy of a response from the club. It’s desperate, click bait garbage from a failure of a human.

The club should public ally call it out. SHould demand an apology from the rag and SG should chin the fat mess at the next presser, hopefully breaking the cunts jaw

Calling a kid a waster, a kid who has more money, fame and achievements than any waster I’ve ever come across in my puff, probably has made more money out his profession at 21 than that waster leckie has amassed in his whole career, again I’d love to be the kinda waster Morelos is

jealously has got to be one of the worst traits of a human being

For me, this part is particularly of interest:

"Or rather, he gets his manager to play it for him.
Morelos was given extra time off last week while Gerrard launched an attack on the mysterious forces he says want to drive the lad out of Scotland.
Sorry, Steven, but this is nonsense.
You’re an intelligent man, you’re a straight-talker and you’ve the potential to be a top, top gaffer, but you’re way off the mark on this one.
Because while you’re right that Morelos is a threat to these mysterious forces — aka celtic — so were Ally McCoist, Brian Laudrup, Mark Hateley and plenty more, but no one tried to drive THEM out of the game.

Henrik Larsson, Chris Sutton, John Hartson were a pain in the backside for Rangers and Alan Shearer, Ruud van Nistelrooy, Dennis Bergkamp were all threats to your ambitions at Anfield, but no one tried to drive any of them out.

Why? Because, like you, they were decent guys who played the game the right way.
Like you, they were hard but fair, they could take a kick and come back for more.
Like you, they’d go to war for 90 minutes then shake hands at time up.
Morelos doesn’t tick any of these boxes. Neither did Luis Suarez, who you brought up as another example of someone who had no friends outside his club and who was railroaded to another country.
Suarez racially abused an opponent. He serially bit man-markers.
He always looked as if playing football was a chore rather than a pleasure — and that’s why he was so disliked — not because he scored goals.
Guys like Suarez get little respect from opponents because they don’t try to earn it.
Guys like him blame their own bad behaviour on the pressure others put them under.
And guys like him are not missed when they finally trudge away grumbling under their breath.
Sadly, that’s the way Morelos is headed.
With his Resting Bitch Face pout, his flailing elbows and snide off-the-ball kicks, the way he’d rather fall over to get a fellow player sent off than take a shot at goal, he seems hell-bent on making as few friends as possible in our game.
He’s not alone in this last one, of course. Roy Keane didn’t try to win popularity contests either, nor did the likes of Eric Cantona or Graeme Souness."

There's one particular difference between Alfredo and that prick's examples of players not subjected to the abuse Alfie gets.

Can't quite put my finger on it, maybe somebody else can spot it...
