trueblueal 2,117
He's the best organiser and has a better pedigree than the others. He is slow but his positioning helps him combat that. We need a partner for Helander. Goldson is fine but not as the main man. I'd like to see us recruit another leader at the back. A grizzled, course and distance, no fucking about, scream in his own players face and head a medicine ball type centre half. Could do with that sort in midfield too. Blue Avenger 22,567
Wow, Eduard and the thumb must be quaking in their boots with this colossus on the way back. I'm sure they'll slow down their game to accomodate him.
Prso's headband 35,303
It’s all well and good having a go at Helander and saying he isn’t the answer but when you think about it rationally we lost 2 games with him in the team. Cup final and Young boys away. None were his fault, rather individual error at YB and official corruption in the cup final.

The fundamental problem is how we are set up and continually picking underperforming dug shite. The eyes don't lie and Helander is no answer to the problems we have. Too many of the players not good enough along with the tactics. You actually think that Helander can stand up to the scum's pace and their strike force?! You actually think that Helander can stand up to the scum's pace and their strike force He’s played against them once, they scored an illegal goal... Doesn’t matter if he can or can’t , that’s 4 games a season. Pretty sure we’d hardly conceded with him in the side and at one point had 5-6 clean sheets in a row. He isn’t the total answer but he clearly makes a difference, that’s undeniable
docspiderman 1,220
Our defence consists of 2 central defenders for the majority of the game and essentially we have at least 5 players in forward positions with midfielders strolling about. Hardly surprising we lose so many stupid goals from simple long balls.

It would be change for changes sake and I really don't know why we bought him, being more ponderous that Goldson. I'm terrified the scum are going to tear us apart if we don't change our style of play. They score first and we are torn a new one. It won't be down to Helander or any other individual player, but just who and what we are at this point in time.

Were other games we looked suspect defensively with him in the side. Livi away in the cup, Motherwell home and at times Hamilton away. Looking at it rationally we have looked suspect at times with any combination at CB this season. It also doesn't help the CBs when the likes of Flanagan, Polster and Halliday play. It's no coincidence that the 12 points we have dropped the last 3 months we have been missing one of our first choice full backs in all 5 games. Doesn't excuse the individual errors but they don't look confident when those 3 start IMO. The difference is, you’ve given 2 examples whereby we’ve conceded 2 goals in a game when he’s played. I can give you 4 in January & February alone when he hasn’t played, so we’re clearly defending worse without him

dee9 3,972
Slowest player I have seen play for Rangers by some distance. A ridiculous amount of money was spent on him.
El-Hadji Spit RFC 733
I like Helander but then I liked Katic, I guess everyone is capable of having a mare. Having all players available for selection is our best chance of winning games.

We've had no consistency in selection since the winter break and is painfully obvious how much that's damaged us. No fluency, players making rash decisions under pressure and generally lacking consistency over 90 minutes of football.

graeme_4 34,347
Helander looks very slow, but oddly I can’t ever really remember him been done for pace - his positional sense and reading of the game always allow him to get back. Had a few shaky games, but your never getting a perfect season from anyone never mind a CB.

GeeSS 512
This rubbish about our defence is nonsense we have only lost 1 goal more than them. Our main problem is at other end we don’t score enough to take pressure off the back line Morelos carried us before the break now for whatever reason he has lost form we are struggling the rest are being found out and we don’t have enough goals in our team Kent Jack Davis Kamara OJo should be hitting double figures or thereabouts but they not hence we struggle to finish teams off! Del 667
Hes only had 1 bad game and that was against Livi, then when we played them a few weeks later he bossed it! He isnt as slow as people make out but he is by far the best we have on the ball and as much as we have been conceding soft goals recently, the lack of ability Katic has on the ball costs us just as much, hope hes back soon!
