Gerry Britton reckons a third should be enough to " bring it on !"

DE on Heart and Hand seems to agree with this too after speaking to a friend who deals with corporate law ,

Makes sense when a third of your members are not happy

Problem I see the SPFL are a law unto themselves ,that’s what’s caused this situation and probably won’t do the right thing ,And hide behind the ,we night to fight together for the good of the game in these unprecedented times ,

Over optimism mate, no harm in that, I won't attack her for it. She has, after all, being doing a lot of work behind the scenes and uncovered some gems, which none of us didn't even think of doing.

At least he is sober on this occasion :tonic::mutley:

The resolution won't pass 75%. Its virtually impossible to achieve that number (assuming all board members and clubs that "gain" something from the shambles vote "no").

I reckon we will end up somewhere around 30-35% voting for it.

To be honest, if it wasn't Rangers proposing this, it would probably have a lot more public backing.

If it wasn't Rangers proposing this it wouldn't have been proposed at all.

I'd have thought a quarter would be enough to push the issue ( vote of no confidence) forward, certainly a third 👍

Quote

The EGM will begin at 11am today by way of a 42-club video call.

A total of 32 must back the call if an independent inquiry is to be sanctioned and that number must include:

At least nine Premiership clubs.

At least eight Championship clubs.

At least 15 clubs from Leagues One and Two.

Record Sport understands the 75 per cent mark will prove out of reach and that should be confirmed by 3pm.

We won't get anywhere near the number required, however, as you rightly point out, if we can get 25% then that should be enough to call for a vote of no confidence.

100%.

It is our own fault to an extent.

Our PR under Traynor was sensationalist and generally shit. Largely statements that were preaching to the converted and would be mocked outside Rangers.

Didn't help our public perception at all.

25 minutes ago, the cry was no said:

That Alloa with an average attendance of 1,179 have such influence in both of our governing bodies is a large part of the problem and in a tribally divided country like ours there will always be the very real issue of placemen tactically placed and routinely voted into positions of real influence that are way beyond their status. It is wide open to abuse and has been for many years now. Taking over committees and public bodies is what tarriers do best, and ALWAYS for their sole benefit.

The anomaly is that the S PROFESSIONAL FL is infact majority made up of clubs who are neither full time nor professional and their needs are entirely different to the large clubs who they regularly exert way too much influence on. Today we have the ludicrous situation whereby the three lowest attended clubs in the Championship (Alloa, Morton and Queen of the South) with a combined average attendance of 4,783 between them could vote down a resolution to have an II into the culture and governance of the whole of Scottish football.

It's like a local grocer with 3 small shops dictating policy to Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury et al.

Madness

Post of the morning here . 100% on the money

That along with targeting his enemies, rather than ours.

19% of clubs votes against the resolution, any number higher than this backing a call for an independent investigation should be sufficient pressure for next course of action.

Would show that not all clubs who voted for the resolution are happy with how it was handled and reinforce the need for this to be looked at.

This vote will be ‘shot down’ very quickly imo

we will have a statement out from the SPFL in the next few hours about ‘moving on for good of the game’ , ‘putting this episode behind us’ all that kinda shite

the compliant media will already have the script to follow

our next move is crucial once the vote is flung out

need to keep this in the public eye and relevant

there is certainly an “appetite” for an enquiry, we just need to manage this correctly
