Steven Thompson Greatest XI

Recommended Posts

Just like last week with McCann, Steven Thompson was up next to give his greatest 11 players he has played alongside. No surprise that there a few Rangers players in there, 5 of which were also in McCanns team.

Stefan Klos, Arthur Numan, Craig Moore, Jean-Alain Boumsong, Maurice Malpas, Barry Ferguson, Graham Alexander, Stephen McPhail, Aaron Ramsay, Robbie Blake and Ronald de Boer.

I've always thought Steven Thompson was a few fries short of a happy meal despite the well groomed beard and tweed jackets.

Graham Alexander ahead of the likes of Mikel Arteta sums that big nonce up

Thompson is an arse.

One of these who talks a lot and thinks he's all intellectual. But when you analyse it, there is fuck all substance to what he ever says. A prick of a guy.

He reminds me of certain politicians or some wee fud punk who's got a promotion from a worker to supervisor and tries all that same shite talk to try and woo folk and elevate themselves.

But contains zero substance,

Most folk don't actually choose the best 11 players for these things. They choose mates, folk they regard as leaders and all that stuff, and they try not to make them all from the same team.

Genuinely surprised (pleasantly) that McCann picked all Rangers players in his 11, thought he'd have plucked for the likes of Weir and Cameron from the Hearts 1998 team.

Yeah, he's the exception. Unusual but welcome.

Thompson isn’t as bad as made out.

His affiliation with Stewart seems to mark him out for criticism from the Rangers support.

He doesn’t even like watching football by his own admission and him just going through the motions w we other Mickey as he calls him doesn’t do him any good as you say
