Van Basten at Euro 88

When we were little we used to imagine scoring great winning goals in a cup final. Aside from Rangers goals, and without bias, which goals would you have loved to have scored yourself ? Mine

Gasgoine's goal against Goram. Slagging rights in the boozer for evermore. 😉

Magical goal even though I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry at the time.

Davie Cooper free kick against the sheep 87 league cup final.

Archie Gemmell v Holland 78 World cup.

Ronald deBoer diving header v them at the stad de nonce.

Tam Forsyth v them 73 Scottish cup final.

Davie's in the Dryborough cup final for me, though 87 is still the best free kick I have ever seen, live or watching on TV.

Wasn't at the cup final v them (far too young ) but you have a point, that goal was pure genius. Absolute class.

I was at the game v the sheep in 87 though. My first cup final.

I can still hear the ball hitting the back of the net :crywank:

That reminds me, Durrant's goal in that final was also absolutely outstanding.

P.s. Can't believe I forgot Bergkamp's goal v Argentina in the 98 World Cup

Not at 79 cup final, too young. TBH dont remember the goal or game and only saw it in the late 80s. Fan since 1978 (aged 4), didnt go to first game until 82-83 season. First Euro game was Porto 2-1, 1983.

There in 87, 1984 was my first cup final, Ally hattrick. 85 vs Utd, got soaked to the skin.

Durrant's was a beauty. Ferguson's in 85 was a sweet move as well. Durrant was incredible the first two seasons of Souness. People were already saying we'd lose him to Serie A. And we were by far the biggest club in Britain at the time.
