Elfideldo 4,403
Ten years ago this week a Rangers youth side took on Blackburn Rovers. I don't always get the opposition lineup but on this occasion I did. Thought I look back to see where the players from both sides are today. https://rfcyouths.wordpress.com/2020/08/02/Rangers-v-blackburn-10-years-on/
pcbear 10,913
Promising youth to first team regular is a huge leap, not too many of these obviously talented kids done much in the game, love your posts Elf see if you can dig out some more like this one. JCDBigBear 10,824
When you see the lack of success of these players it makes me question the worth of spending so much money on our youth set-up. When we do unearth a talented player they can walk away for very little compensation.
a_staunch_prod 22
I've just pulled my 11yo boy out of a pro-club Academy. Been chased by two other teams since. We're sticking with grassroots for now. This makes me feel better about the decision... Edit: He's been there since 7yo.
DrLaudrup 4,595
Interesting how many of our youth players ended up in the irish leagues. Apart from Naismith nobody there has got close to a high level.
