Morelos Watch

Evening Tims, by James Morgan

ALFREDO MORELOS WOULD START A FIGHT IN AN EMPTY HOUSE

The Colombian’s misdemeanours are often explained away by the suggestion that he is a target for opposition supporters and so is partly the victim of a self-fulfilling prophecy: take a stick to a wasp’s nest and the chances are you’ll get stung. Here, there were no such mitigating factors.

This wasn’t exactly steam-escaping-from-the-ears Morelos but he can’t seem to help himself when it comes to seeking out trouble. In the first half, he slammed into Funso Ojo long after the Dutch midfielder had played a forward pass.

As the second neared its end, he hauled Lewis Ferguson down by an outstretched arm inside the area and did his “Who me?” routine. Mere seconds later, he waded into a scramble for the ball involving Joe Aribo and three Aberdeen defenders which ended with him taking a swipe at Jonny Hayes.

It was a reminder that he is too temperamental a player to keep his head in fiery encounters – four of which are against celtic and will likely determine the destination of the title. The anticipated £17m they will receive from his transfer to Lille – or elsewhere – could be put to good use on new attacking talent who can broaden the spread of Rangers’ goals.

First game in and they're trying to set the narrative already.

No surprise, sadly.

Do they mention Ferguson barging one of our players long after the pass was played or hayes having a fly wee kick at Morelos near the end?

Shows what the wee man is up against in this footballing backwater.

Rancid.

Another tragic 'article'. Just imagine any Bear writing anything whatsoever about any of their players. Couldn't ever muster the interest to  watch one of their games never mind dissect it in great detail for the benefit a green and grey audience. Really are a weird bunch, but that's nothing new.

Of course they didn't.  Neither did they mention Ojo's fly kicks, or McKenna's shoving and barging or Considines multiple of the same before his sending off.  Only Alfie gets this treatment.

They no longer even try to hide it anymore, so blatant.

Absolute scum and our PR need to challenge this and nip it in the bud by mentioning the racism against AM and how this is stoking the hatred and unconscious or conscious bias of the refs. We also need to do a count of any sheep players tackles/ challenges and evidence the comparison.

If you buy the ET on route to wherever your going or get it delivered you’re part of the problem

That bit in bold is the constructive way this should be approached.  The situations I've mentioned with respect to Aberdeen players are only off the top of my head.  This journo has specifically made a point of going on Alfie-watch and ignored everything else.  To be fair to McCoist, the wee "fracas" in the corner near the end this so called journo picked up on was  exactly what McCoist called it, "nothing".   Which, if for that reason alone, makes me relieved it wasn't that prick Walker on commentary.

Fuck me man!!

so he’s not allowed to go in and help his team mate? And Hayes has a kick at him first, although he should know by now not to retaliate!
