Gerrard has run with 4 CHs in his squad in his time here. I think the timing of Katic injury is fortunate that Gerrard still had his budget available and chose to use it on a CH to cover Katic being out long term. But we're still paying for 5. Paying for a 6th would be mental, and affect spend potential in other areas of the team, unless we have a bottomless pot of money. The squad is big to cover injuries as well as form. We can't have an expectation we'll just keep bringing in players to keep the squad at full size when the injuries do occur, the cost of that would be crippling.
