Reporter for the Preston Star, their local newspaper. Broke the story about Jim Jones growing the worlds largest courgette.

Get on the phone to Preston tonight and tell them we’ve got Scotty Arfield yasss.

Barton couldn’t kick his own arse up here because he was doing punditry in the summer before joining us, rather than a proper pre season. Let’s not pretend Joey Barton wasn’t a half decent footba

Don’t want to speak to soon but this looks like another good bit of business (I’d concluded). We all of a sudden have plenty/different options and goal threats from many areas.

To have accrued the injuries we did at weekend (can even throw Joe into the chat) yet look so strong is very encouraging.

Ordinarily we don’t comment on transfer speculation, however, the last few days have been frustrating as it would appear that a number of clubs are attempting to do their bidding through the press and social media.

Some of the so called ‘informed’ comments have claimed that transfer fees have been agreed between us and at least one other club for named players.

At the time of writing this statement no bids for any of our players have been agreed. Any approaches that have been made have been underwhelming in both quantum and payment timescales.

We have always accepted that buying and selling players is a normal part of our business, but at the right price. Some of the so called ‘informed’ comments on social media are not only unhelpful, but frankly not true.

We attempt to conduct our transfer dealings club to club and only announce a deal once all parties have agreed. We have made bids for a number of players this summer but as deals were not finalised we have refrained from confirming the identity of potential targets. This will remain to be our approach.

If and when there is anything definitive to say for either incomings or sales we will make a factual statement at that time.

So despite us having one of the tightest transfer windows for leaks in history they are saying we are stirring the pot here and leaking this out? When all the info has come from Preston journos etc? Get tae fuck ye cunts!

Think they're talking about a number of clubs, couple of their players being bid for. Bournemouth in for Ben Davies at £3m when Preston want £10m.

Much ?

At 27 the guy has just had the best season of his career with a return of 12 goals and 7 assists in 31 appearances.

Would depend on the price but based on that and the other clubs interested in him, I think he would do well for us.

No surprise with who their manager is.

I don't care if he's a post op trans so long as he can pull on the Rangers jersey and play like he belongs.

I understand your sentiment but if at any stage this had been a woman then the standard of player we are possibly getting is incredibly low
