In all fairness I think this is the type of game that Hagi wouldn’t be able to influence as much and whilst I don’t rate Jones that highly he’s good at winning free kicks and set pieces could be crucial. In saying that though we’ve also rested our best set piece taker.

Barasic has picked up an injury with Croatia yet Gerrard prioritised the Euro qualifier ahead of this game.

Jones hasn't turned up since signing.

I think he’ll take his chance today. The fact that Gerrard was willing to let him go and now he’s in the starting line up shows he’s clearly knuckled down in training and earned his chance

I reckon Barasic must be carrying a wee injury or something. 

Big opportunity for jones, Hagi has been poor and would get booted up and down the park all day today. If Jones wants to have any future at the club, he has to take these opportunities

As much as I have a lot of hope for Hagi, he did need dropped at some point. You can’t keep getting away with poor performances. Not sure away at Fir Park was the right time though

More than enough quality in there to put Motherwell away.
 

Bassey has looked dangerous going forward in his brief cameos. Would love Jones to prove me wrong but I fear 90mins of watching him just running either into opposition defenders or out of play.

When Jones is on his game, he is a better option than Barker or Stewart.

Barasic hasn't been great for a couple of weeks and may have picked up a knock with Croatia. Hagi would be kicked up and down the park today and he'll be needed on Thursday so no concerns from me that they aren't playing. We should still have too much for them and we are 2/9 to do do them.  3-0 or 3-1 to the Rangers.

the shorty term priority at this point of the season has to be EL Group qualification for the cash to strengthen our midfield as hopefully after next Thursday that’s put to bed and then our main priority is then 55
