Not sure if it is great for the club - would certainly prevent any big investor coming in and sky-rocketing Rangers. Let's see - at least there would be no chance of a Dave Murray copy & paste. I have no issue at all with Dave King getting his money back after all he has done. Trying to get 20,000 fans to stump up money to buy out a multi Millionaire will be a hard sell. let’s be honest here, there is not a single chance of this happening. Hard or not, the quicker the future of the club's guaranteed the better. Over 3 years I think we'll be surprised by how many take it up. Leeds_Bear 8,062
I really hope this is something fans can unite behind - ultimately if you don't want your specific 'blazer chaser' to end up representing the fans on the board best way is to become a shareholder and vote accordingly. surfsup2 and Siam69

The control and influence which he holds is effectively being offered to the support for zero profit to him. Look at it this way. If the support could have mobilised and rustled up the money at the time, we’d have done so. He has effectively loaned us (interest free) the capital to secure the shares and the power they control. If we win 55 (and throw in a cheeky wee treble), there will be no problem funding this. Siam69

thebluedoo 2,652
If Dave King was only interested in getting his money back then he would have sold at 50p, not the original purchase price of 20p. This is exactly why I stuck with this since it was Rangers First because I wanted to put money directly into Rangers and have if not a big say but a say nonetheless. It was ran down by many as a waste of time and money, if you want a say in your club its the only way you will unless you are one of the wealthy investors 😜 for just under 20 a month, a bargain imo 👍🇬🇧

Popular Post Creampuff 22,628
That’s a big, big announcement. Fair play to King - his intentions were obviously not what so many were keen to say they were. Easy to be critical - but he took us from the brink, set us up on an excellent platform, and is taking a personal loss on his way out. Done a lot for the club. Fragglerock 519
Only issue I can see is how we allow the board to make decisions without having to run it by the supporters club who in effect will have to have a vote among its own members before a decision could be made, it could slow decision making down and affect the momentum. This kind of announcement worries me a little bit as it may entice them to get more members which wouldn’t force that change, which I think is vital for the organisation and Rangers itself.
