Sitting top of the league and still in Europe. priority and top focus is of course the league. shit result for us but fine. No need for panic of hysteria. Could be a positive...we've brushed teams aside with ease so far this season and while we all hoped we could keep it up all season it was unlikely. Get this out our system and move on. rather we lose that than 3 points in the league. players need to make sure this defeat doesnt knock their confidence. How they react now will say a lot. weejock 20 Posted December 17, 2020 Share Posted December 17, 2020 We definitely missed the menace of Alfie. We should have rested Balogun, but maybe Helander wasn’t ready for a full 90 minutes. Our normal starting midfield of Kamara, Davis and Arfield would probably have coped better if we had started with that trio. Hopefully Jack too comes back in quickly now. Bassey chose this game to have a nightmare and Barisic made a huge difference when he came on. A bad night at the office for sure, but could have been avoided by stronger team selection. Team rotation could be a nightmare going forward. Thankfully, it’s only the league cup, We would be feeling a lot worse if it was the league. Somebody made a good point earlier...when we won nine in a row back in the day, we didn’t win nine trebles. Getting knocked out of a cup happens sometimes. Lots of positivity required for the next three games all at Ibrox. Motherwell, Hibs and celtic all on a good pitch with the right team selection.
