Planners seeking approval for 160 flats at the Albion.

It's important they get it as I'm sure the money from the sale goes towards the new Edmiston House & upgrades to Ibrox.

That information has been out for a considerable time mate.

They've had to apply for an amendment regards the club deck too as when that was built, parking at Albion was part of the conditions.

From what I remember, the club has sourced other parking areas around the stadium.

I know, but it's now at the approval stage.

The only possible problem with this getting planning consent is that we need to find alternative car parking for 450 cars somewhere in the vicinity.  When we did the Club Deck, the planning consent required 900 car parking spaces.   That requirement was a disgrace when you consider that we wanted to increase ground capacity from approx 44 thousand to approx 51 thousand when just 13 years earlier the ground could hold 80 thousand.   Anyway, we have now applied for a change in the original consent to reduce the 900 to 450 parking spaces stating that we are procuring 450 alternative spaces in the vicinity.

Maybe that requirement has been nulled because of the council wanting to introduce a new zone for match day parking?

Someone on FF I think was saying some new spots were going to be at the old Gas Works on Helen St?

Flats next to the stadium will be a pain in the arse , residents will object to any plans the club propose and moan about fan behaviour on match day despite moving into a flat next to a football stadium

The Albion car park must be one of the worst locations ever to buy a flat. Surrounded by Ibrox, the M8, A major police station and a load of industrial manufacturing businesses. Just hope their windows are quadruple glazed.

The new flats on the other side of Broomloan Road went very quickly and they are nearer PRW and the M8.     Ibrox Stadium Main Stand is a fine looking building.  Private parking, good transport links, good for supermarkets, handy for access to motorway without being just too close.  Even our home games are only about 30 days of the year so not that inconvenient.

These will go quickly when built.

I don't doubt they'll go quickly, most likely bought up by landlords and rented out. I love our stadium, but I really wouldn't want to live next door to it!

Correct.

Folk buy new houses next to golf courses that have been there for 100 years then complain when folk fire golf balls into their gardens.

Bit puzzled by this one.

1) Is that really blue grass in the middle, (could be bluebells.)?

2) Are these bought privately then rented, or are the council owned and rented.

3) Will the inhabitants mostly be from good Protestant stock...........

3) Doesn't look very good, just a big circular building with no character. (Do you agree @Inigo)

In the public consultation, 7 "people" basically submitted the same objection on the same day.   Someone in the area complained they were flats and not in keeping with the other housing in the area (which is all flats??).  They complained about the flats being 4 storey yet all the tenements in the area are much taller 4 storeys.  Someone  in the new development of flats on the other side of Broomloan Road complained that they would block sunlight despite the fact the new development will be over 100 metres away and further North???  The flats already built in the last few years are mostly 4 storey with some 3 storey and some 7 storey.   Some people moan about anything even when it has no adverse effect on them whatsoever.  They could of course just hate Rangers.
