So there's a possibility Edouard caught Covid before international duty in France.

Clinical Director Jason Leitch slammed the Tannadice side and now the Premiership champions could be set for some tough questions.

Premiership champions Celtic are adamant they didn't breach strict Covid guidelines during a team photo at Lennoxtown last month.

It comes after Jason Leitch hit out at Dundee United for failing to maintain social distancing during their own team photo on November 27 with the Tannadice side now dealing with an outbreak at the club.

Scottish clubs must adhere to strict social distancing and mask wearing regulations at all times apart from during training sessions and matches.

But Celtic are certain they don't have a case to answer hours after the Clinical Director fumed at United for failing to stick with strict rules laid out by the Government and the SPFL.

A Celtic statement said: "The photo was taken and published weeks ago and undertaken with all established protocols. "We will happily discuss this with the Scottish Government should they wish to do so.

"Celtic's own stringent protocols have ensured that, to date, following thousands of individual tests, we have recorded no positive cases within our squad with the only cases affecting the club being recorded while our players have been away on international duty."

BBC's Brian McLaughlin also revealed that the Parkhead club feel confident they aren't on the hook due to the factors they had in place.

The video shows 31 members of the club's first team squad and coaching staff huddled together for the images before they break off for individual snaps.

He said: "My understanding is Celtic have been very comfortable with that photocall, it was all outdoors, players were together only momentarily and it was done immediately after the entire squad and everybody within the bubble had tested negative."

The video of behind the scenes footage from the traditional team picture was uploaded on Tuesday, November 17 - only 10 days before the incident United have been carpeted for.

In the wake of that, Leitch said: "We were very surprised to see this photograph, which shows a clear breach of the Covid-19 guidelines agreed between the SPFL and the Scottish Government.

"We would expect this to be taken extremely seriously by the football authorities.

"This action puts individuals and their families at risk of infection and serious illness."

Scottish football is under the microscope again after Kilmarnock and St Mirren were forced into 3-0 forfeits over games postponed by positive Covid-19 tests.
