Raging lower league clubs have spoken out after their campaigns were put on hold after Celtic 's ill-fated trip to Dubai. Thirteen players plus Neil Lennon and John Kennedy have been ordered into self isolation after Christopher Jullien tested positive for coronavirus after the winter training camp in the Middle East. However, just hours before the Hoops revealed their positive case every division below the Championship was suspended leading to fury from League One, League Two and Lowland League sides. Fuming Stranraer boss Stevie Farrell claimed the decision was simply "political appeasement" from the SFA for the mistakes made by Celtic to keep the Scottish Government satisified. The Blues boss revealed his side were not notified of the decision to halt the campaign by the governing bodies - with the club first hearing about the major decision on the news. With part-time clubs Alloa and Arbroath competing in the Championship he can't understand why Stranraer were not offered the chance to carry out testing before the shut down. Farrell said: "Nobody wants to interfere with the health of the country, but ultimately you have to do that with parity, consistency and fairness. "You have to look at it objectively, and ultimately the reasons given by the SFA board, supported by the SPFL board I may add, in relation to the Premiership and Championship are that they have been allowed to to continue because there is a prerequisite that they must test once a week. "That's fine, but you've got two part-time clubs in there who have the exact same social bubble as any other part-time club outside of the Championship. "Every club in League One and League Two was given a minimum £100,000 by the Scottish Government, so why was there no round table discussion to ask if we would be willing to take money from that £100,000 to test our players at part-time level, the same as Alloa and Arbroath, and continue to play? "I'll tell you why it wasn't done, it is because this is a political appeasement. League One and League Two have been offered up by the SFA to the Scottish Government because of the widespread Scottish football problem. "This is a reaction to Celtic's trip to Dubai. If they look at themselves in the mirror they know that. This is a tick box exercise. "It's just another example of a complete disregard and disconnect from League One and League Two. "I'm sorry to say that, because it's not meant individually against anyone, but time after time these decisions are made without any proper consultation. This is a token gesture without any real thought process or mitigation." East Fife gaffer Darren Young is concerned that the part-time clubs are paying the price for the fall-out of the Celtic squad jetting to Dubai, noting that they also had not been informed by the SFA or SPFL of the decision before it was posted on the SFA website. The Bayview boss said: "The main thing is health and safety, that's paramount, but the cases in League One and League Two haven't been that high, so I don't know how they come to the conclusion that they are safer than we are. "It definitely looks like we are having to pay the price for the Celtic stuff. You see the stuff about the Celtic players, and there isn't many people thinking it would be a good idea to go to Dubai. "They come back and what's happened has happened. You couldn't script it any worse than it was but they took the gamble. "You want everything to be safe, but I guess we are all put in the same boat, and will just have to come together." East Kilbride boss Stevie Aitken was also blindsided by the shock call and fears the Lowland League will not restart again. He believes they lower ranking sides have been "used as an example" by the SFA to allow the top two divisions to continue. Aitken went on: "A lot of resources have been put into this club to try and get out of the Lowland League, and to make East Kilbride safe for players in staff. "We put a lot in place for social distancing and the guidelines right from the start. We have been very strict as a club to keep football going. "We know the bigger picture in the country with the new strain of Covid, but there are real concerns that we don't finish this season. "Celtic's situation hasn't helped, if we are all honest about that.
