Great article from Boyd and he absolutely nails it with the fixtures.

They could easily have played all 3 games in hand by now. Plenty of opportunities to do it especially if they haven't gone for a piss up in the sun.

It goes right against the SPFL and thier early statements start of the season about the lack of room for moving fixtures.

Stating the obvious here I know, but that mob are particularly reeking atm.
They appear to be actively straining any kind of relationship they have with anyone they deal with, including even parts of their own fanbase which is always nice.

How many indiscretions are the tramps allowed before something gets done about them!

Not to even mention their fans with their protests and cruelty to steel sharks at their pigsty! Not a thing done about them either

Now if your form was suspect (piss poor at times) it's understandable that you might want to delay any postponed games until you could bring in some new players in the transfer window, re-group with a winter train camp (when there is NO winter break) and buy some time to bed players in.

Great post mate but this bit stuck out for me, hadn't really thought about it that way.

There was NO winter break but one team were granted one when it made absolutely no sense whatsoever either in terms of the health risks or in terms of the fixture strain

Simultaneously that delayed playing 3 fixtures until a point when they could strengthen their squad. Most other teams are more concerned about losing key players during this window and due to the pandemic would be unable to resist any decent offers (especially for players entering the last 6 months of their contracts)

Preferential treatment is the new sporting integrity in Scottish football it seems. ONE team and only ONE team got a winter break, the rest followed the rules

Love it when Boyd gets tore into them. No quarter given.

Fuck all they can say about it either as it is spot on and they know it.

The fact is his words aren't those of some former Rangers player sticking it to rivals, but rather damn common sense that the vast majority of folks in Scotland will no doubt agree with. We were told that unpresented actions were required to save Scottish football last year. Draw a line under the season, gift celtic the title now and then we can save all of these small clubs facing financial problems. When the league returned we were told that, understandably, protocols would need to be implemented to minimise transmission between clubs.

At what point does allowing them to fly off to another country in the midst of a second full lockdown make an iota of sense? From a footballing perspective I don't care what they do as we're completely in control of the situation and 55 is right there, but from the perspective of someone who has followed the health advice re COVID throughout the the past year, I'm disgusted.
