Has often been the scapegoat this season. He’s not been a scapegoat just a £7m player who’s not produced enough so far. He’s done well but not done enough over the course of the season. He’s still young and will be a great player in the next couple of years..

Kent made a huge difference in the 2nd half and so deserves a ton of credit. Great stuff to the lad. But that doesn’t negate the fact that he’s failed to produce on far, far too many occasions, given his fee/what’s expected of him and someone playing in the front 3 for Rangers. Such criticism is entirely fair, as is the credit when it’s due. But this ‘told you so’ pish is just cringey.  plumbGER, Rangers_no1, DavieCooper74 and 2 others like this

On many occasions where Kent has had a mediocre game, it isn't a coincidence that the full back (whatever side he is playing that day) has done well. Too many fans just think he has a shit game because he hasn't scored, assisted or created chances. That is bollocks and old fashioned. The reason SG consistently plays him is because he can trust his phenomenal work rate. Defensively, first of all (allowing Wing backs to go forward) , and then his above average forward play. Unfortunately for Ryan, playing in Stevie G's front 3 often means covering in at full back and not always taking the lime light. My Fathers Scarf likes this

He's a very good player with huge talent, but he needs to mix it up a bit. Not every team is going to allow him space to run at them, especially in Scotland. But the pace, control and finish for tonight's goal...he's the only player in Scotland capable of that. Copeland1983 likes this

Ross-Gazza genius 623
Kent is soo valuable to the team and the way we play. THIS is why we paid £7 mil for him and he's worth every penny in my eye's. He gets a lot of unnecessary stick at times just because of his price tag, but he's the only player in our team who has the ability/skill and pace to take the ball and run as well as play in tight areas. Yes we'd all like him to score more or assist more but his game is a lot more than that and if he only shows up for the big games while playing ok in the others(rest of the team can step up) then I'm fine with that because it will all click eventually. There's also 2 or 3 other forward players who also need to chip in more but they don't receive the same kind of scrutiny as Kent. Well played Kent you were excellent and a lot of folk won't know or appreciate what they have until it's gone. YearsofWar and My Fathers Scarf like this
We Will Follow Rangers 10,056
£7m is a big outlay for us but real terms its buttons, don't understand why folk harp on about it. what do they imagine £7m buys you? if Kent was the finished article and was able to produce what he can more regularly he would be £25m easy and wouldn't be here.. Doubt Rangers would except less than 15m now for him. Fantastic signing. Laudrup1690, Bristol loyal, YearsofWar and 1 other like this

Kent’s biggest problem is we had to pay English money to bring a player to Scotland and he’s judged on his price tag. £7m in England would struggle to get you a decent championship player but because Scottish football is so skint too many expect Messi for that sort of money. sco22y, We Will Follow Rangers and born a blue nose like this

Agreed mate. Actually dont think his price tag is his problem, its the expectations of some that arise from it. Bristol loyal likes this
