And wit? What is your answer here? Sack the manager?

See when we won the league in 2010/11 we were fucking murder in a lot of games, actually torture to watch.

Do you know how many Rangers fans give a fuck about that now? About 5 I would guess, if that

Who said anything about sacking him, he's on the cusp of winning 55, the sooner the better, however this is a forum for discussing the club, its results, players, everything, yesterday was shit against the bottom club in the league, its obviously going to be discussed until the next game

See when we last won the league, people enjoyed it, but they also discussed the shite performances like losing at home to hibs and dundee united, thats what happens between fans

Yesterday was shite, the last 6 weeks performances have been shite, the results have been good (funny as fuck as well) the start of the season bar two games was brilliant,

People need to calm down.

Completely get the sentiment but standards still shouldn't ever drop, they drew yesterday and we fucked it today.  We need to get this wrapped up ASAP.

The leagues done we won't lose it from here but we need some fresh blood as a chunk of our starting 11 are feeling it.  Need to punt Zungu, Jones and Edmundson and bring in genuine first team qua

Discussed, clearly, discussed with a soggy winging fanny though, not by most, most just see it for it is.

I never just said change the system, i said change the players, but if gerrard thinks that the current players are all he can trust, then maybe he has to see that they aren't implementing his system the way it should be

He can give a hundred rockets up their arses, doesnt change that if aribo doesnt know how to break down a 9 man opposing wall now, then a rocket up his arse won't teach him that, if kent us consistently making the wrong decisions because he cant think of anything else to do, shouting at him wont help

Last season we suffered badly when tav and morelos went off form or missed games, gerrard stuck to his system even though guys like flanagan, polster and defoe weren't suited to the system, imo he's doing the same again, aribo is never a sitting midfielder in his life, hagi and kent arent suited to their current roles either,

Mind when morelos played as essentially a number ten with roofe up top, people had a go at him because he wasnt scoring goals, what he did though was take up time and effort from opposing defences, he used his attacking mindset to throw opposing backlines out of joint, hagi doesn't do the same because he isn't the same mould, its opposing midfielders that deal with him and it shows, defences seem more compact and more rigid when we only have one out and out striker on the park, hell even when itten played on the right it still opened up space in defence lines

Im happy to see the current system staying in place, but not with the same players, itten needs to start in place of kent, have two strikers ruffle up defences and allow us space

The players on the whole dont look like round pegs in square holes, that's absurd.

I dont see Aribo deployed either as a sitting midfielder, he's often the advanced one of the 3.

I've said Itten deserves his opportunity.

The rest of your post is a waste of words tbh. If we don't play with 2 wingers playing wide you'll moan, we get it mate.

Its succeeded in Europe has it not even though we're unlikely to win there.

Its allowed us to dominate most games domestically, and prove to be a system the scum have no current answer for which is good in a 2 horse race.

Its got us hot favourites in a title race despite the scum out muscling us financially.

The 1st season anyone expecting silverware are at it. 2nd season we dominated the scum in a final and lost out to poor finishing, missed chances, a worldie goalie and an offside decision.

2 cups we fully deserve to criticise for. St Mirren was awful and trust put in back up players cost us.

But it really comes across as if you're hating this system so much you're desperate to find fault or be critical about it.

The first season aye, the manner of going out both cups to the sheep is still a sore one though, especially that ibrox home game, but yeah he was trying to build something

Last season we were saved from a run in disaster by covid, lets face it the tarriers were likely gonna horse us at ibrox before the shutdown,

As for the system, its not a hatred for it as such, its a hatred that we try and put square pegs into round holes when we have lost the round pegs that go in they holes, this is gerrards 6th transfer window and yet we still struggle when one or two starting players are missing, last season was morelos, this season its arfield and Jack, we chased zungu for so long it seems only to play aribo there instead when he is poor at it,

Im fine with the same system when the players are there,

Why?

Because it was a new squad, with a new rookie manager, learning a new system. A squad filled with players of insufficient quality who'd been knocked to hell for seasons.

But most importantly because they were up against a squad of consistent winners, more internationalist, stable, spending more on wages and transfers  to bring in better players.

If you were entirely neutral looking at the situation in a league that didn't involve us whatvwould you think? Would you expect a lesser team to beat the strong dominant one?

Level of performance has been poorer I'd say since the European campaign halted.

We don't seem to be able to kick on like a few months back, the tempo seems to have dropped off.

I'm hoping we can get over this period, we've managed to get the points so far without the performances, a few players up their levels and hopefully with Jack coming back it allows some more protection for others to venture forward?

Would love us to get a couple of players in who could freshen it up, and ideally someone who could offer us goals from the midfield, as Arfield is a big miss. The amount of times we decline to shot from outside the box is frustrating, and when Aribo did they were shocking. Would love a genuine threat from distance.

Aribo is part of the midfield 3, wether he's deployed further up or whatever he clearly isnt playing well in that role, but he persists in playing him there

Kent has been rotten for weeks barring two assists against the sheep, how he last 87mins yesterday was unreal, defoe for him should have been the sub

As ive said the system is fine, its working when the players are on it, but two defo aren't yet they still play even though we have other options, why not try the other options

We should always be expecting to win trophies, anything else is taking the piss.

Honestly, how?

We showed we could beat the Tarriers, done it twice, we got beat off Aberdeen twice in the cups, and the Tarriers struggled past Hearts in the final, it really wasn’t some sort of David v Goliath story.

At the start of the season I hoped rather than expected us to win silverware. One cup we had Sadiq as our attack ffs.

Its not some sort of David and Goliath story yet David won a quadruple treble.

Crazy to think how he has improved since he left us. he looked woeful for us yet hes scored 34 goals in 71 games since.

User staunch mate with slight lacking of objectivity and realism.

You'll be expecting us to win the EL this season and CL next season. Put your money where your mouth is. 👍

We all worried about the January fixtures.

Since Christmas, we’ve picked up thirteen points from fifteen, remain unbeaten and we’ve increased our lead, all without Jack and Arfield.

We’re not exactly flying but let’s get a sense of perspective.

We dropped points, so this is not allowed.

That cup game we lost to a team that had James Wilson and he was replaced by Stevie May.

Does help when we shat the bed against the likes in Aberdeen and Hearts

Correct.

For whatever reason, there seems to be a generation of fans coming through (I don’t mean who you responded to) that have become so complacent and so used to mediocrity that they’ve lost sight of our history and standards. There’s this idea that by demanding trophies we’re somehow acting with a sense of ‘entitlement’ or that we’re ‘spoiled’.

I’ll never understand that. We should never accept or concede a trophy to any other team. The club’s success has been built upon that stubbornness and expectation.

Fair enough it doesn’t mean the criticism should then go overboard but any notion that fans are in the wrong for expecting silverware is so far out of touch with what Rangers is all about.

Getting the feeling that it's just excuse making tbh.

Everybody's delighted with the way things are progressing in the league which is the #1 aim this season of all seasons, but still doesn't get away from the fact that our record in the cups is utterly embarrassing.

Aribo isn't suitable as one of the front 3. Hes playing poorly in midfield, my point was he's not a sitting midfielder.

Agreed re Kent.

I'm not adverse to others like Itten getting a chance. Defoe too in certain games. But Bassey and Zungu really disappointed in the cup. Others like Barker offer even less.

Its tough when full backs so crucial to our system and the flair players dip in form at the same time as 3 kep players being out. We can't cope easily with 3 out and even more than that deserving to be dropped. So yeah bring itten in on Saturday, but no way should we change systems.
