hammer93 10,133
2 hours ago, Jeffrey said: PORTSMOUTH star and self-confessed Celtic fan Richard Hughes admits he’s dreaming of sticking it to Rangers at Fratton Park this afternoon. By GARY KEOWN PUMPED UP: Hughes wants victory over Rangers The 30-year-old Scotland cap grew up in Milan as a kid, but he was born in Glasgow and has maintained a lifelong love of the Hoops. He’s excited about the arrival of Walter Smith’s SPL champions for a pre-season friendly and said: “I was born on the green side of Glasgow. As soon as my mum and I were fit enough to fly, we returned to Milan – where my dad and brother were. “You don’t get a say in which team you support. “You are born and, before you know it, you get a Celtic shirt and scarf and go to your first Old Firm game. “Family are coming down and there are one or two black sheep that support Rangers! “It would be great to be in a winning team against them.” Hughes played against Celts in a 3-2 friendly defeat back in July 2002 and got himself on the scoresheet. He said: “It was a bittersweet moment. “To score in a blue shirt, white shorts and red socks against the Hoops with the Celtic fans behind the goal was not how I dreamt it in the back garden when I was growing up. “Still, it was brilliant to play against Celtic. Paul Lambert was my hero and I managed to play against him, so it was a special evening. He seriously told us he was a Rangers man, unless he thought he was going to get his baws booted if he told us he was one of them Jeffrey and scottyscott1963 like this

Clearly the fact they are insisting the current coaches remain and Howe's choice for DOF are causing huge issues I think he might still end up at celtic but that tonight from his team was a come and get me plea if ever I saw one. magic8ball, SteveEarle and Paisley Blue Loyal like this

Is it bravado, coz of course he would join up ,Or just plain stupidity hedging their bets on a manager that was always going to be looking at other options . Looks very likely that the Parody SSB Twitter feed was pretty close after all ,But even while the MSM up here were reporting it as it was a virtual certainty he was signing on the line the bookies odds were a lot more generous than normal for that type of situation ,Roy Keanes odds were shorter before he told them to bolt . The absolute scenes if this all falls through. Comedy gold 🤣 If he does end up there I agree he'll be struggling. For all the he took Bournemouth up chat he didn't half get backed financially to do it. On top of that he's a plan A type manager. Popular Post RFC55 74,137
I said early on when howe was linked I was surprised. He filled Bournemouth with people he trusted and family members were hired within the club as well. I think he did a decent enough job at Bournemouth but it was a tiny club In a league it had no right bring near, I think that is why he was almost allowed free reign to control most things there. Wherever he goes he will want the people he can trust but as we know with the taigs they hand you people to work with and basically tell you what's happening. I just don't see how it will or would ever work BlueKnight87, Paisley Blue Loyal, magic8ball and 4 others like this

rangersross 3,500
Even if he ends up there, every day he delays starting is beneficial to us, especially with the Euros already taking up time. Ideal situation would be him trailing them along for a month or two then taking a job elsewhere. Then you would have someone like Keane, Kennedy or Clarke trying to turn a leaky tanker around with no time to do it. RFC55 likes this
Popular Post graeme_4 13,420
Do wonder why celtic are so insistent on picking / keeping the support staff for their manager.
