Celtic B Team player arrested in connection with Crow Road hit & run death

Copied from the DR

A Celtic B Team player has been arrested in connection with the alleged hit and run death of teenager Aidan Pilkington.

Aidan was killed after being hit by a car on Crow Road in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Tributes were paid to the 'well-loved' 18-year-old who was due to move to Dundee to go to university.

Police confirmed a 19-year-old had been arrested in connection with the incident, and had been released pending further inquiries.

We can now confirm that the teenager arrested is an active player for Celtic's B Team and played in their victory over Gala Fairydean Rovers a few days ago.

His profile remains on the club's website today as part of their reserves squad.

Aidan was struck by a car at about 12.20am on Crow Road, and was rushed to hospital where he tragically passed away.

The vehicle involved was later traced by police, and a 19-year-old man arrested.

Sergeant Scott Sutherland from Road Policing said: “The car involved has now been traced, and a 19-year-old man has been arrested in connection with this incident.

“He’s been released pending further investigation.

“We would like to thank everyone who has got in touch with us so far regarding the appeal, and urge anyone who has information, but has yet to contact us, to call 101 quoting incident reference number 0120 of 11 Sept 21."

Celtic FC have been approached for comment.

Cunt 100% been pished out his mind done a runner, unfortunately the polis won't be able to prove drink driving because of the time that's passed, unless he's been witnessed drinking alcohol close to the time this happened.

If they find the car he drove in though evidence will be all over it. driving seat and the outside of the car etc. He is pretty much fucked. even his clothes fibres from the driving seat will be on clothing and same way with the seat of the car. The police will find everything to nail the bastard down hopefully.

A young dad as well with a future ahead of him i could shed tears even thinking about it. Sad sad days.
