At one point, they probably did get fairly close to appointing a knowledgeable Director of Football who would oversee Howe, but now they've got that trampy old pirate Desmond force-feeding the 'Antipodean Ancelotti' whatever overpaid, over-the-hill players he can find, even if they fundamentally don't fit 'Ange's masterplan'. Gtting players in to suit how the manager would LIKE to play is irrelevant and well past the point (he never realistically had any chance of that happening this season anyway), they are now at the point where they need to get anyone in who will be happy with Europa League football (at best) and fighting for 2nd place in the league. Domestic cups are out the window as well. So that rules them out from signing any Jobs or Sheep players unless it's for ridiculous money and wages.
