Plucky celtic gain vital point against Livingston in battle for second place

Many criticised celtic’s choice to press ahead with their trip to Dubai, but the decision appears to have been vindicated.

Plucky celtic secured their third draw in a row as they simply refused to be overawed by the 2017 League One winners.

With Hibs and Aberdeen six and seven points respectively behind Neil Lennon’s men prior to kick-off, celtic knew they could put themselves firmly in the driving seat for that coveted second-place finish.

The visitors bravely held out for 15 minutes, but Ciaran Brown took advantage of celtic having signed Shane Duffy to put Livingston ahead.

An upset appeared to be on the cards at half-time as celtic went in 2-1 up thanks to goals from Moi Elyounoussi and Nir Bitton, but normal service was resumed when Jay Emmanuel-Thomas levelled the scores on the hour mark.

Most would have expected Lennon’s men to capitulate at that point, but at a snowy Tony Macaroni Arena the time spent in Dubai’s notoriously bitter conditions paid off.

Indeed, celtic were so confident that, instead of throwing on a striker, they brought on a 35-year-old midfielder to make some faces at inferior players and pretend he didn’t feel cold.

It proved to be yet another inspired substitution from Lennon, as Brown went on to dominate the 77th, 78th, 79th, 80th and 81st minutes.

The result maintains celtic’s impressive six-point lead in the fight for second, with Jack Ross and Derek McInnes forced to watch on helplessly in their living rooms.

With their opponents desperate for a goal in order to spare their blushes, celtic remained calm and saw the game out.

Tonight’s result has led to calls for the manager to be sacked, but Livingston insist they remain fully behind David Martindale.

Trying to find a way of docking teams points for any breaches and hand said points to a certain club that too the moral high ground :mutley: and had the courage to speak out about it.

It’s a fucking disgrace.  If this does nothing to wake up all the clubs in Scotland then nothing ever will.  The problem this time for the SPFL and the SFA is that they are so blatantly fucking other clubs with threats and punishments -  Hibs, Aberdeen, St. Johnstone, St Mirren, Kilmarnock, Hamilton.  When the clubs see Rangers getting the kicking they don’t give a fuck and some enjoy it, when the other member clubs are getting fucked over then that is a different story.

In the article on the Sky Sports website this really concerns me.  Why ask for this information now and over halfway through the season?  Surely to fuck this was all in place for the start of the season.  What happens if clubs are deemed not to be meeting the requirements and can’t meet them now?

’Among a lengthy list of information requested, clubs are being asked to send the JRG plans of the home, away and referee's changing rooms for match days.

Top Scottish clubs asked to review protocols

That includes the dimensions of each room, the position of each changing station, the position and size of screens and dividers, the position of doors and the position of ventilating windows.

Clubs have also been asked to provide the dimensions of other rooms used by players and coaches - including meeting spaces - and for stadiums using showers, clubs need to include the dimensions of the shower room, the position of shower heads, the position of drains and the position of doors and windows.’

Could this be the other way round? And what the jrg is after is documented evidence, that I can't believe they don't already have, that that little bastard is talking shite

Not sure, I just don’t trust the fuckers.  One thing for sure is there won’t be any details coming back from the Scum regarding the setup of their showers - they don’t exist.

Here is a hard one, remember they gifted Aberdeen the points to finish 2nd.  would we do the same? if the opportunity arises?

I'm not sure about gifting them points but I'd certainly think about giving some fringe players a game .
