Rangers pay tribute to Sir Tom Moore

Capt Sir Tom Moore more than earned the right to go to Barbados. It was a destination that was on his bucket list, and after some of the places he had to visit back in the 40's, he fully deserved it. His family probably knew it was their last chance for a family holiday too.

The money he raised was £33M, not £100M, and it was for NHS staff to improve their working conditions, such as rest rooms etc. He also helped to lift the spirits of the nation during some of our darkest days since WW2.

I for one have absolutely no issues with him taking the trip of a lifetime. It is just such a shame he developed pneumonia a few weeks ago, followed by Covid-19.

Having a point of view in a debating platform is not trolling.

Are you not allowed to open up a discussion point anymore?

How did you manage to turn 33m into 100m, if you had proper facts to hand a sensible discussion may well have taken place.

Nice touch but is he all that?

Why would a family take their 100 year old loved one on a trip to Barbados in a global pandemic?

The NHS isn’t a charity where did the £100m go? Not a penny was used here in Scotland.

Fair play had a great life but bears den??

It was a risk that looks like had fatal consequences, not setting a good example flying off abroad when he is vulnerable tbh. I'd imagine he would have had the vaccine already being 100, so it looks like it never worked.

Ever read stuff on here and wonder what's the point.....

The man was such an inspiration.

He was a great lesson that no matter how old you are you always still have time to do something in your life, no matter how small or big.

The guy was 100, had seen a war, had a family and built a successful business, yet in the last year of his life broke a world record, was knighted, and had everyone in the country knowing his name whereas a few months before outside of his immediately family and friends he was just another pensioner.

Mate, I’m of the mind that the man could do what the fuck he liked at 100 years old. He earned it.

There comes a time when every soldier must lower their flag, and despite detractors, you Sir Captain Tom Moore have done it with grace, dignity and class.

Thank you for your service and our freedoms,

Rest easy Sir.

Well said.

Rubbish

He aimed to raise £1,000 for NHS Charities Together, but donations accelerated after he appeared on Good Morning Britain.

His campaign took off, and Captain Tom quickly became a national treasure, and a much-needed hero in the early days of the Covid-19 pandemic.

On the morning of his 100th birthday his fundraising total surpassed £30 million.

More than 1.5 million people donated directly to his appeal.

While Tom Moore's JustGiving page has closed, you can still donate to the charity for which he was raising funds.

NHS Charities Together supports 241 member charities across the UK, as they provide extra support to the NHS and NHS staff.

Whats the problem and whats your point? Flying off on holiday is a bit reckless right now when your 100yr old and theres a global pandemic on the go? I see why he did it and dont blame him.
