If you're looking for an excuse not to give it then merest contact is your answer to give not proven.

If you're looking at that impartially you're saying he brought his legs together, slowed down, the keeper backed out but touched minimally the players boot. He was going down with or without that contact, he probably never even felt it given how negligible it was, certainly didn't cause him to go down and refs need to be able to see that.

If we get instant VAR (not the one used now) they will be the dopes running it, and it still wont stop the usual suspects bleating for days if not weeks on end. Probably the real reason for not having it is it will put a season ticket holder of a certain club out of a job.
