I've seen some fantastic strikers in my time, and I'm 50. Mols is easily the most technically gifted striker we've had imo. Not always the best finisher, and as you say, others have scored more....but the technique and skill that he had, he was absolutely brilliant. Had he not got that bad injury, I really feel we would have struggled to hold onto him. He was a special player!

I always say that, he was unplayable before the injury the most in form striker in europe we would have struggled to hold on to him.

How he stayed at Utrecht so long and slipped through the net at Ajax is astonishing.

Bartram  Brown  Boogie  Cowan

             McCall   I Ferguson

McMinn                            Walters

I see what you did there, exactly what the OP suggested, your own personal favourites. All of those good solid players who wore their heart on their sleeve.

Yeah mate. Some of them were strange wee guy fascinations. For some reason I used to pretend to be Tom Cowan when I played. He had a wee toe kicking the ground affectation I copied. Fascinated by McMinn's arm oot style and found him exciting. Thought Bartram was a smashing big player with a great shot. Used to 'go' Woods in goal too. Bet loads of 80s wains did.

That's exactly what I was looking for 👌

As a wee guy who used to go across to Bellahouston Park to watch the training, I was in awe of the players. They had strength, confidence, fitness and more importantly stature, that's what it took to be a Rangers player, and even Tommy McLean seemed like a giant.

Any team must include the Girvan Lighthouse.

A player who can kick the ball so high that TV cameras can't follow it, and have to guess where it's going to land, deserves to be in this team.

In black and white, of course.

I thank you.

sorry for going 'off-topic' mate...but your mention of Bellahouston Park just took me back years and years.

(Young 'uns...you can look away now)

I remember scoring 3 penalties out of 3 against Alan Rough (from the 18 yard line) when he was Scotland keeper at a charity gig there.

At the time, I was wearing 4 inch brown 'platform' shoes, blue 'parallel' trousers and a black jacket (I know, I know)

....and my mother had her picture taken with Derek Batey of 'Mr & Mrs' fame.

Thankyou @tannerall

Miller may get pelters but thr amount of goal clips you see with him celebrating- over the last 15 years he is in alot of our big moments.

Can't argue with that.

Unfortunately for some people Kenny Miller will never be fully accepted 100% despite doing everything humanly possible to redeem himself...

I'm one of those people.

It's a small world, what year was that, I was living across the road from the park from 1974 till 1978, and I think I vaguely remember that.

Rangers scarfs round the wrists too ? Used to go to games too in the fashionable platforms and bell bottoms around then, the bell bottoms used to soak up the piss on the terraces, but was a teenager so staying in the fashion was more important.

And Alan's brother Dougie was a BB leader a few years earlier when I lived in Knghtswood, and Alan used to come down for the kickabout "PE" sessions.

I think it was 1976 mate....... the worst of it was that my brother dropped the film with my mums pictures with Derek Batey down the back of his Mk1 brown Ford Escort rear seat and she never saw the real photos.

We laugh now.......... but mum was livid

We'd made a special trip to Glasgow from Rothesay, Isle of Bute......boy, the ferry home was fun!!!!

I'm honestly amazed that both he and Negri came to Scotland. Not that they came to us as such, just that no other major European team came in for them with big bucks!

I'm not sure about Negri's career pre Rangers so wouldn't like to comment. But Mols was more than impressive at Twente and Utrecht before he came to us.

Another one I look back at and wonder why no one from the big leagues beat us to his signature is Arveladze, his numbers were shockingly good.

Used to watch Football Italia on Ch4 when he was with Perugia. Scored most weekends I watched and I can remember saying to myself "He'd be fucking great for us....no way would we get him though"! A year later he signed. Couldn't believe it!
