Each to their own about covid but no fucking wonder they want to live life. This is never going away, at some point the world has to get back to some sort of normality and that means living with it.

If McGregor did the same would you want him gone?

I understand the sentiment, but they've a responsibility to the club not to dip us in the shit like that.

As for McGregor, I certainly wouldn't want him gone, but I hold to my original assertion that equal treatment must prevail. If we go easy on players according to their prominence then we're inviting more breaches to happen.

Allowed to do their jobs??

We want them to play, their risking their welfare by being far more exposed to Covid, whilst most people hide in  their houses. We should cut them a bit of slack, as it most be shite being that age during all this.

They're in one of the lowest risk groups re COVID and enjoying great salaries at a time when folks are losing their jobs and having to get by on a reduced amount of an income that probably was a struggle for them in the first place. Not sure there's a small enough violin in the world for the point you're making.

They're professional athletes and we should expect them to understand the gravity of the situation they find themselves in, both with regards to the pandemic as well as how important this year is for the club. If they demonstrate that they do not possess the maturity to handle the responsibility of being at a club such as ours then they should be moved on.

I have. If doing so was to impact my job (being unavailable to work due to illness or having to self isolate) I would fully expect serious repercussions.

If my actions led to my employers name being plastered over the papers, I'd expect the sack.

Expect the sack ?

Think an employment lawyer would advise otherwise.

Everybody has personally broken a rule or 2, whether standing too close to someone or visiting parents etc.

The difference here is they chose to go to a party, got caught (thankfully) & are now dragging their employers name through the papers. Would've been even worse if they hadn't been caught because you can guarantee they wouldn't have owned up to it before training today.

Guy in my work went into the office last year without clearance, got let go 2 weeks later. Can break as many rules as you want on a personal level, only you deal with the consequences, soon as you involve the people paying your wage its a different story.

If it was a transfer window I'd sell, it's not & you can't trust them now to even play with the reserves in case they do something again, booting them is the only option

In the lowest risk group, but the ones with their lifestyles most affected.

Their young lads who are missing out on socialising more than any other group, who knows how it's affecting them mentally. They made a mistake, should be punished but allowed to redeem themselves if they can.

There’s absolutely no way they will be sacked. That would not only be probably illegal, but would set a precedent that could prove to be very costly in the future. However, I think the management will come down on them like a ton of bricks. This is all assuming obviously that they have breached the COVID guidelines, although I don’t think the club would be issuing the short statement if there was nothing to it. It boils my piss that these lads don’t seem to think they have to live by the same rules as the rest of us. I know the usual caveats about being young and daft etc will be said, but they are in a very privileged position and have abused it. Also, the Manager is now going to have to answer questions all week about this shite when we have an important Europa tie and a league to win. Imagine the police hadn’t attended and they showed up for training the next day. That was obviously their intention before they were caught and could have fucked the whole season for us. Fucking morons.

Disagree wholeheartedly.

Fair dos. From experience, I can say confidently that many employers would see having their name splashed across the papers after their staff broke the law would see you out on your arse. Most likely as a straight gross misconduct.

Hands up if I was 18 I would be breaching covid regs.

Young people are being asked to pay a huge price.

And the employer would be fucked. You can't own or control an employee 24 hours a day. This is fuck all in the grand scheme of things and the fact people are up in arms about it is laughable.

If your lucky then you potentially get 1 last chance but vast majority of places I have been it would be classed as gross misconduct and you would be fucked out.

Football is totally different and no matter what you think of the boys they are still assets at the end of the day and will be treated as such.

The club will decide on the appropriate punishment for these players and whatever it is we go with it. Little point in speculating and falling out over it ffs.

It is for the club to mitigate the commercial and reputational damage from this and apply punishment commensurate to the breach.

I really don't give a fuck what that is, as I'm sure the club will do the right thing whatever that maybe and is of little concern to the bigger one, on the level of punishment that could be meted out by the authorities on the club.

They are under pressure from Holyrood after the Dubai debacle, so do the haters sieze the opportunity to do us down and make an example of us?

Could they deduct points points? That is the one and only question. The players concerned aren't exactly key to getting the title over the line, so I really don't give a fuck, but there will be no level playing when it comes to handing down punishments out, seeing it's us.

Maybe those more up to speed in these matters could explain if a points deduction is a possibility, because little else matters.
