The clubs statement does exactly what it should do, show that we've been involved in discussions internally and that our manager (who is the public speaking face of the club) has said twice in recent days that we support the message put out by the Government and Police Scotland.

It's not up to Rangers Football Club to Police the streets, if fans choose to celebrate then it can't be down to the club to stop that, the club simply don't have that power, they wanting Beale out with a baton ushering fans up the road? We've stuck by the message put out there and I imagine there will be another statement before the Slavia home game next week encouraging fans not to turn up beforehand.

seeing they photos fucking disgusts me. imo wouldn't call them fans of ours if they behave like that. fucking wee bastards. hope we can do something to contribute towards repairing or replacing them.

A tiny, tiny, tiny minority of our fans were mongs and vandalised local businesses, broke some benches, stood up on historical monuments and scrapped with each other full of booze etc. That's on them, nobody else.

You fly with the crows

Obviously it would be up to the individual if they chose to contribute.

It’s pretty poor memorial benches were destroyed, that’s more than just public property.

How about you write an article about a football club in the city who housed and covered up an international paedophile ring ya fucking boot.

Evening Times - bench story aside - is one of the most rancid Rangers hating publications in Scotland and that’s saying something.  Hibs riots, remember that Jane the liar providing quotes from the police federation liar about us throwing our children in the road of police horses etc.

There seems to be a ploy by the Scottish Government to ' blame and shame' Rangers for their apparent lack of leadership regarding this issue. But hes nicely and selectively  ignored Police Scotland approach to deal with it.

However,d I cant condone the 'idiots[ who caused damage to benches etc etc.; but if Police Scotland spoke to Rangers 2 weeks ago, all they have done is drop their shoulders so the issue of 'policing' has slipped off their epaulets and directly onto Rangers.

Similarly, for those who went to Manchester, plod similar to GMC , Police Scotland have sat on their arses and done nothing.

Its their role to Police, not the club.

To add, looking at the damage it’s more like it was with the sheer weight of those standing on them as opposed to wilful damage.

maybe but doesn't really matter. don't fucking stand on the benches. it'd be common sense even if it was any old bench but memorial benches?

I would hope that the benches broke because there were too many people standing on them rather than some arseholes purposefully breaking them. But, in any event, the damage should be paid for. It might be a nice gesture from the Club, while not saying we are responsible in any way, to offer to pay for them.

Im sure her article will be balanced and fair.

Im not condoning it. But it's obviously been caused by too many folk standing bouncing on them and they have been broken by accident.

Severely doubt gangs of Bears went round systematically smashing up the benches.

I'm sure we could have these paid for and replaced in no time.

Completely agree, but accidental damage it’s totally different to vandalism.

We can make this right, relatively easily.

The story can be a positive one, assuming ET chose to report that side of it of course
