Kamara Davis. Davis Whittaker. Hagi Thomson. Kent Darcheville. Morelos Subs Smith McLaughlin Boyd Defoe Novo Roofe McCulloch Itten Dailly Balogen Adam Jack Faye Arfield I think when you see the squads it’s fairly obvious that Gerrards team is considerably better particularly when you look at the strength of the relative benches... I would still only swap Cuellar and Ferguson but I would add Thomson to the bench

Knocked out Braga and were in a group with Feyenoord, Basel, Schalke and Fenervaros. Did they play Sparta in the qualifiers that year, for some reason I thought they had them in the groups, knew they had Feyenoord.

European Championship winner at LB and a Champions League winner up front. Probably the best non-OF quality squad since the Aberdeen side of the early 90s that had Hans Gilhaus in it. Don81 2,837
Ferguson, Weir and Cuellar would be in the team ,Would take Novo for the bench in a heartbeat , had a knack for popping up when it matters.

TartanTeddy 758
One of the players I would love in the current squad from 2008 would be Novo - he would run riot with the space made by the likes of Kent and Morelos

He just got better as he got older. Young and improving til 21, excellent from 21 for 18 months, left us at 23. He was unplayable for 6 months, but he was still outstanding for 18. From 21 years old. I always assumed when we won the league again it would be with a well coached team against weak opposition, and that it would a long, long time before we had players like we had before. Never really imagined we would have better.
simplythebestest 2,145
As great as we've been this year, Carlos from that team in 2008 would still stroll into this line up.

RangersMedia 35,961
The Europa league is a harder tournament to win in 2021, than the UEFA Cup was in 2008. Out of the 2 squads I'd take GK - McGregor (08 version) RB - Hutton CB - Goldson CB - Cuellar LB - Barasic CM - Davis (08 Version) CM - Kamara CM - Ferguson WF - Aribo CF - Morelos WF - Kent With in reserve. S1 - McGregor (21 version) S2 - Tavernier S3 - Weir S4 - Helander S5 - Papac S6 - Thomson S7 - Davis (21 version) S8 - Hemdani S9 - Cousin S10 - Novo S11 - Darcheville
