Nearly the end of the season and (in no particular order): They are 23 points behind with two games remaining. Their captain is getting ridiculed left, right and centre, has been a liability and exposed as the very limited player he is. He is also fucking off to a third rate team. Their manager is hung out to dry, a dead man walking, eventually fired and is now a drunk fat(ter) mess. Their managing director is stepping down and despised by all the fans, his legacy in tatters. Their head scout is shown the door. Their manager in waiting is exposed as a clueless donkey who left his, already over run, midfield one man down for 1/3 of an old firm game. Wee Gordon Strachan makes a total cunt of himself on live TV. Their players’ values have plummeteeed. They’ve spunked millions on Duffy and Laxalt. They faced ridicule and the public’s fury for an ill judged trip to Dubai. They also got roundly pumped out of two European competitions. Meanwhile we’ve: Knocked them out the Scottish Cup Hammered them in the last old firm game of the season, and at a canter! Won 4 out of 5 v them this season, drawning the other. We’ve exceeded expectations in Europe (AGAIN!). Got one of the best defensive records in the world. On course to achieve 102 points. and on course to go unbeaten in the League. The only disappointments were the cup loses and both of these were due to losing a last minute goal. When you look at that turnaround you would think this happened over multiple seasons but this implosion happened in just 9 months. They have been pretenders for the longest time and now we have called them out. You couldn't script it and nobody could have forseen what King said about the pack of cards and how true it would become. Also worth considering that, at the end of last season, it looked like Gerrard might have walked at one point.....maybe even 1 game away from being sacked, such was our poor form. I'm equating our turnaround in fortunes to that of a tennis player facing match point at 5-0, 2 sets down, yet coming back to win.
