I think the Scottish media are just as bad, if Scotland ever got to a group stage they a d the fans would be a lot worse than England.

That's possibly true. The longest I have ever lived in Scotland was two months, so I can't really compare. In any case, obviously it's easier to overlook bias in favour of the side you support and harder when it's in favour of one you don't.

Professional sportsmen who are fucked after a couple of games. Andy Murray played 3 times in under a week when not fit including a 4 hour five set match, you’ve got 5 subs so now half your team aren’t playing a full 90 minutes every game.

And he got a wee seat and a drink every few minutes. While a footballer certainly isn’t running for the whole 90 minutes, a tennis player isn’t playing for 4 hours in a 4 hour match. Apparently a tennis player is only actively playing for less than 20% of the length of a match. That’s obviously not to say a footballer is active for the whole 90 minutes. Using these two sports is just a poor comparison.

Really not comparable though is it?

Murray covered 4.4km in total In that 4 hour period. Footballers cover that in 45 minutes and some are regularly hitting speeds over 8.5m/s whereas a tennis player won't get near that. Tennis does pose its own problems (change of direction etc) but actually watch a rally and the vast majority of movement will be low intensity side to side shuffling with the odd sprint (but these are short bursts of acceleration and the top speed hit is very low hence why its not as taxing on the body). Not to mention the 20s break between every point and the 5 minute break after every other game and end of sets.

Top male tennis players are undebiably incredibly fit but the comparison with football lacks logic.

Watched a docu about Murray and his training  regime was fucking savage, looked far tougher than football training.

There won't be much more gruelling than a footballers pre season training.

During the season training is easy but that 4/5 weeks is fucking solid

Different requirements different sports, hard to compare. In the old Telly show Superstars boxers did shite and F1 drivers did well.

France couldn't beat Hungary or Switzerland.

Portugal got pumped off of Germany

Spain finished second in a shite group, failed to beat pish like Poland and Sweden, extra time against a side that never caused England any problems.

Only one that there is any valid argument there is for Belguim.

Well said young un:lol:

Over 35K donated towards a girl for crying at a football match when people dont even give homeless people money ffs. Hope it goes to charity instead tbh.

It's the new thing to do as soon as something bad happens. Launch a go fund me page to get 5 mins a fame.

It's social media cunts who think the world revolves around them.

England have done well so far and will likely reach the final. But they have done nothing that wasn't expected given their opponents. Not their fault and they might even win it as their belief rises. They have an excellent squad and their manager hasn't done much that could be termed wrong up to this point. Hope they meet Italy in the final. That will be the real test.

I can’t believe the draw worked out so lopsided.  With only the worst German team in decades in the English half of the draw anything less than getting to the final should be seen as total failure.

What a load of shite. It'll be a waste, but not a failure.

Lopsided or not, none of the semi final teams have played any of the big nations apart from Italy facing Belgium and England have facing Germany. That's down to the amount of teams in the tournament and the big hitters playing shite.

If England were on the other side of the tournament they would of faced Spain possibly and then Italy. Not that much difference.
