Apparently, disappointing as it was, Clarke has earned the right to try and take us to the World Cup. BBC reporting he brought a calmness following McLeish's volatile results.

McLeish managed 6 competitive games in his second spell - Won 4 Lost 2

Clarke has managed 22 competitive games - Won 8, Drew 6, Lost 8

I didn't think McLeish was the right manager second time around but think it's a bit unfair the support Clarke gets compared to the absolute lambasting McLeish got.

Outside of a foreign manager, I'm not sure who we'd go for but I'd be very surprised if Clarke takes us onto qualification.

My guess would be someone like Malky McKay or Paul Lambert.

Well it was a disappointing end, as per usual. Was nice to have qualified but the lack of a top quality forward didn't help amongst many other shortcomings and the odd bit of bad luck. Fuck it, it's done now so that's that.

Yes they've lived up to that bloody awful del amitri song.

I'm not raging about how it ended like I would be if Rangers crashed out of Europe in an ignominious manner. Just disappointed but not I'm not surprised as its the same old story.

Bring on the return of club football....
