Katic has the potential to be a very very good defender at this level, he wasn't at that level before he got injured but I think he was managed poorly. He was always the one to drop out when he made a mistake whereas others were able to fuck up time and again. 

He has his flaws but they are coachable. He has all the raw tools.

I think he should have a long term future here but doubt he will.

Can understand if he was dropped and the player or players that replaced him were outstanding, but until last season goldson had a clanger in him every game, worrall was utter dug shit, and edmundson was in the same boat as katic in terms of being fucked about

Ive always said a back 4 needs consistency, and allow players making the odd mistake to play through it, it allows both that player and the team mates to learn and pre empt anything that can and maybe will go wrong

Poor form is one thing, having a jack simpson-esq 90min game 3 or 4 times in a row is droppable until the poor form is worked out and worked on, but one simple mistake shouldn't be cause for the throwing under the bus that gerrard did, especially as tav and goldson one period sold more jerseys than castore and not once did gerrard think to bin they two

Always thought he needed a bit more time, but that can be said about a lot of new signings. The most impressive thing for me is the shape he got into while out injured, the guy is an absolute machine. 
If nothing else it shows how serious he is about his career and his time at Rangers.
