Yeah, definitely. I've found the longer clip and she its not as bad as "these things happen let's move on" but it absolutely isn't what she would be saying if it were another party. 

The thing is, these things will happen and it actually isn't an unreasonable response if we weren't living in this culture. But if that's the standard then everyone has to be held to it.

I think Sturgeon is a little too concerned with making excuses for Godley in the interview. Effectively defends her by the 'she's a comedian that's taken a misstep' line and the charity bit. Wants to lessen the impact obviously, because it's one of hers involved and because it reflects badly on herself. If it were one of us or a Tory the tone would be unrecognisable.

Bit of a stretch to call her a comedian to be fair.

She does really broad hacky regional humour, "In Scotland wae dae this, if yer fae Glesga ye dae this"  and occasionally throws in some insults and use of the word cunt to convince the audience she's edgy.

Her biggest success was cringey clips of her dubbing over videos of celebrities and politicians in a Scottish accent.

Sounds like she's saying that because of bullies, Godley snapped and became racist and then had to explain her racism, which is a terrible thing for a woman to have to put up with.

The blame mentality is hilarious. Blaming men of all things. As soon as she hears the podcast where good ole Janey is being racist as well as discriminating against the Irish travelers (according to the rules they set) then she will have to apologize and delete. If not she doesn't have a shred of respect in her community.

You are trying to rationalise the outpourings of a gobshite so consumed by hatred that she will say ANYTHING to lash out then retrospectively try to justify it.

This as her party champion a policy that could see you arrested for something you say at your dinner table and charged with a hate crime.

This was in response to them not doing due diligence on Godley prior to contracting her to do the awful adverts, not the tweeting. Stating that her apology was dignified is the remark which should now be applied to all similar cases
