Not only still employed but still the chief football writer after this abhorrent column. He and the editor should've been sacked for this.

It was a terrible article at the time but reading it again with the current interpretations flying about, it is no different to any of the tweets currently being deemed racist / xenophobic.

This should be re-trending as part of the ongoing situation.

Was this around the time Aberdeen fans had the offensive banner that was probably passed off as banter?

Banner was about 2 years later. Jackson and the DR sown racist seeds for others to follow.

What’s the difference between Cammy/Hoggy and the fans banned in past fortnight?

You can’t pick and choose just because some pay 25k.

The latter occurred last week the former in the last decade. Big difference and context.

Remember when there was a petition raised to get Brendan O’Hara to stand down as a candidate for using the term H**?
The Herald Article had the two points below:

The response was “The SNP said Mr O'Hara apologised for any offence caused by the use of the word but had no intention of stepping down”

An SNP spokesman said: "Mr O'Hara acknowledges that in the past he used a derogatory term commonly used about Rangers supporters. It is not a term he would use any longer as thankfully football culture in Scotland has moved on from those days. He would apologise for any offence it caused."

is it any wonder Rangers fans are criticised when the SNP is loaded with people who hate us.  Also doubt a spokesman would confirm that football culture has moved on when they have this anti Irish rhetoric now

Yeah just checked that, interesting that it was just highlighted as ‘tasteless’ and Aberdeen carried out an investigation, anyone know how many fans were banned for producing same?

This shouldn’t be limited to us vs. the filth, this should shine a light on all the other grubby fuckers like Cosgrove, Spence, Stewart, Welsh etc who have previously made derogatory remarks towards our club, players and fans as this is a Scottish football and societal issue.

Next to impossible with zero support from government and media. No problem if they both had a balanced view but as we all know they don't.

Sectarianism is a term that's dying on its arse.

That’s why there has been a push for the anti Irish catholic racism .

The big bad sectarian word is losing relevance,Even in 10 years the issue has massively reduced and even more so in the last 30 .

BUT ,Those on the other side of the devide the issue hasn’t been reduced to anywhere near the same level .

Changing the term removes them automatically overnight from the new age issue .

When you take the bones out of it its nothing more than football rivalry these days .

I would guess that there are a number of other clubs in Scotland who were watching our media strategy this year to see how it would pan out, with the hope of doing something similar. The constant blatant attacks against us from the MSM are no doubt part of their attempt to dissuade them from doing so

BurnessPaull is a very large firm with offices in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen. It’s not full of that lot - will be a mix like anywhere else. What I would say is that the management are ruthless - always have been. If the firm is getting tagged all over sectarian stuff on Twitter she’s not going to be having a nice time.
