Seriously though you should have a premium option or something, or even just a donation page where you can sign up to direct debit donations. I guess that way it wouldn't create a 2 tier system for users if it was a voluntary donation page. Any additional profits going to charity, I'm sure that's something many a bear could get behind.

Tbh I'm alive and cant remember half of it. I've used the same password for years, just now it has a host of special characters and numbers bookended onto it.

Somebody will work it out.

In other words, when you retire/ die, RM will just disappear 😬

Definitely keep this site for our own dont let any interlopers on here

Agreed in principle. However, it's hard to determine who an interloper is. I got banned from Follow Follow. No real idea why. All I was really saying was that I'd happily move on Tav and Goldson over other players in the squad and that I thought the Board were delusional if they thought we would qualify for the CL by signing only free transfers (don't get me started). But think I must have been "outed" as a puddle drinker.

always thought the forum should be private. any cunt can poke their nose in. i do understand that the site relies on ad money to keep it going. pretty much any free site on the internet relies on ads. but i guess another way to look at it is the site relies on our haters visiting the site cause they also generate ad revenue. that didn't sit right with me.

i don't know the financial situation only the admins will but i'd make the Rangers section private to full members only. ban accounts over a certain age with no posts/reputation. i get that some log in regularly but don't post often or at all. they could be spying celtic fans or they could be genuine Rangers fans. i don't know if it's possible but could even impose a temporary ban to weed out the celtic fans. if your account is temporary banned you can get in touch with admins and they can decide what to do.

also, going forward make registration more challenging. keep an eye on new members and have their access/post privileges restricted. for example, new "junior" members would not be able to view the Rangers section  and only be able to post in general section of the forum, they would need to wait X minutes between posts, and only so many posts in a day. don't give them as many warnings. say a full member gets 10 warnings before a permanent ban then a Junior member would only get 2 or 3. once they get to a certain post count and reputation then upgrade their account to full access member.

i know that approach would lead to less ad money but could look at an optional subscription for members. loads of free sites do this. not everyone wants to or can afford to pay a subscription but i would think that plenty people on here would be more than happy to sign up and help the site out. i'd get a subscription. offer different tiers: £3/month, £5/month, £10/month, or a custom amount per month so people can pay what they can afford or want. give incentives for subscription members. for example, some sites remove ads for paying members. they get coloured username, automatically refreshing pages so you don't need to reload every time a new post is made.

A H&H level subscription model I would happy to pay. A pint a month is hardly going to be missed from anybody's budget. However I doubt if it would be effective in keeping lurkers out.

Plus there will be some genuine Bears who due to personal circumstances just can't justify the fee or want to pay the fee and so would be excluded.

Tell me what's sensitive and what's not though?

Fuck sake, they are just words, people offended by any of them need to get a fucking grip.

Clearly that is not the way of our dictators now. Sticks & Stones may break bones but names will always cause offense.

Just waiting on them taking the likes of the creators of Father Ted, Little Britain etc, to court for historic offensiveness.

Given everything that's going on we shouldn't be letting non members view any part of the forum. I'd also say stop any new members signing up temporarily and ban any member with zero posts. Let's protect ourselves first and foremost.

I totally agree

Does Rangers Media have a whatsapp group? Would be worth getting one together for posts that cannot be discussed in the public eye or even let the verified section have more topics to discuss

Well documented on here that the ‘clique’ are all in a group

I left the group because of the racism (and the weird abundance of scat porn videos). Not in my name.

Really hope Admin consider this. Even a new section of the Forum to open for a small fee every month as this open Bears Den is fucking jail bait sometimes. I have been blasted on Twitter a few times for some posts about the filth etc

Jail bait you say,

can I join?

One of my pals has the Rangers crest with 1873 on it. To be fair he is dislexic and didn't know the history of the date mix up.

Tattoo artist was probably a scum fan.

I love winding him up about it. :craphead:
