Think Gerrard is doing the right thing. McGregor has been a bit shaky this season for me and Bassey has impressed. Manager sending out a signal that nobody is guaranteed a start.

I’d be incredibly surprised if that’s what Gerrard is doing because one thing our manager doesn’t do is drop his favourites without reason

European qualifiers started in October last year, the league on the 1st August. McGregor was injured and returned by October.

Firth was on the bench at times early last season.

Qualifiers started in September against red imps. McGregor played. McLaughlin played the next League game against Hibs.

He’s 39 though:lol: that’s almost unheard of unless you’re Buffon. You don’t know what injuries or stuff are affecting him at that age but he obviously can’t play every game in all competitons anymore or he would be. Maybe if this gives us an extra season out of him it will be a great shout.

Why do we need another season out of him if he’s not even playing in half the games?

If that was the case Wright would be out there.

Just because he had an injury and the COVID isolation doesn’t mean this will be the same the rest of the season. Still our our best keeper and just won player of the year.
