Both Alf and Tav are off form and need a few weeks on the bench. Perfect time to give Paterson and Roofe the jerseys and let them get on with it. Alf and Tav can come back in when they show it from the bench.
Itten shouldn’t have been sent out on loan. He never got a proper run of games. Now would be his chance.
We should have also signed Dykes. A big man up front that gets on the end of crosses and could have been played in two up front with Roofe/Defoe. Perfect for SPL.

I also think that Tavernier is the same in terms of setting the tone for the team (albeit in a less dynamic way). Both of these players being off form shines a massive light on our deficiencies and the motivation of the squad.

I think that's very, very, very, very, very, very, very generous to Tav.

Canny believe some of the comments here, Buff is playing more of a centre forward's role these days and that effects his goal scoring.

A centre forward certainly used to be expected to net 15-20 goals a season the problem is we dont have the predator to play alongside him that gets 30+ goals per season.

Then he shouldn't be in this role. We need goals.

He got 30 himself before Christmas the season before last.

It's really frustrating as this is the first time itten would probably get a run of games since we signed him. Poor choice to put him on loan, either sell and replace or keep. He's mid 20s ffs why loan him.

Because we're vastly overpaying him and want far, far more than anyone is willing to pay for a bog-average striker.

Regardless of the postion he is being asked to play his goal return has to improve. He is getting into the right positions to score, the Hearts game showed that. Snatching at easy chances to score.

I agree with the two either side not contributing enough in goals or when in a three behind the number 9. Been an issue since Gerrard came in.

So you mean it doesn’t work like FM in real life where you just select ‘offer to clubs’ and a string of offers come flooding in the next day 😂

Exactly, the role thing can't be blamed when it's his final kick of the ball that's the problem.

We’ve not defended as well as last season and all our front players are out of form at the same time.

We had many 1-0 wins last season, so far we’ve conceded late goals to Motherwell and now Hearts which has cost us 4 points and puts us under pressure for this Sat.

We miss Kent more than any other player as even when playing badly he is still capable of one bit of magic and even when he’s shite he doesn’t hide.

I think his touch and contribution are still ok but he is missing a lot of good chances just now, especially against Hearts and Alaskert away. We could have won these games if he had knocked a couple in.

He has always been good at missing chances is our Alfie. Nothing new. Just getting better at it after practice.

Are people saying Itten could have been the solution being ironic?

Dont think it's ironic or the solution, but lets not kid ourselves that out of itten, roofe, defoe and morelos, morelos is the last one you'd want on a sitter in front of goal, its not recent either, under murty he missed from what, a yard out at home to the tarriers when we got beat, yup he's scored some big goals for us, thats undeniable, however we don't need big goals in big games only, we need shit like Saturdays game wrapped up and morelos is brutal at they kind of chances

Doesn't matter if he batters defenders all day, holds the ball up for as long as we need etc etc, that miss from 6 yards on sat it quite consistent for morelos and why he'll never get a move to a big team that he wants

If morelos cannot find that consistent killer touch he either needs dropped or a striker partner who'll get into they positions, his miss on Saturday against hearts is so bad its unreal,
