What happened was we spurned a shed load of chances and Motherwell got lucky, and then went down with an injury every DJ for the last 20 minutes.

Nothing more nothing less.

Motherwell didn't get lucky, they got one chance and took it, we had umpteen and didn't.

Know what I'm fed up hearing?

"At least"

"At least we're still top" "At least we didn't lose" "At least Celtic got beat"

Fucking pathetic from sections of our support. Far too many years of accepting dross and forgetting who the fuck we are despite winning 55.

Pathetic.

This, we didn't gain a point we lost two.

Fuck knows how/why we continue to persist with Davis AND Kamara against bottom 6 teams at home

Baffling mate. 1 holding mid for protection is all that's needed. Our system should be one sitting mid with two midfielders either side playing box to box. It's so unbalanced. When Aribo plays that role he is the only one of the 3 that plays box to box and offers something. Imagine someone on the other side doing the same? Would be hard to defend against.

Good first half played some nice stuff but you just knew that they were scoring at some point as defence looked a mess.

The midfield set up is an absolute disgrace.

We get pegged back and what does Gerrard do, takes off 2 strikers and puts Morelos on and another midfielder on to play on wing.

He’s so fucking negative it’s unreal just now.

Just as bizarre was taking off Davis and bringing on Arfield.... we needed some creativity and a change in formation.  The best move to make would've been to take off Davis for Bacuna and Wright for Morelos.  More forwards on the pitch would've made more sense than bringing on a rapidly declining Arfield.

Should really have made some changes around the hour mark when it was clear things weren't working for us in the second half but proactive subs never seem to happen right now.

Even more puzzling given the fact Gerrard thought Lundstram had his best game for us to date against Lyon then drops him and doesn't even get him on the pitch.

Top class management there.

To be fair, its not the first time he has talked up a player, or had him in the pre match press conference and then not start, or even bring him on for the game. Seems to be his management style.

They got lucky to get that chance. Yes, our finishing was wasteful but the reaction on here is bizarre. I’ve seen us play much worse and get a result off deflected goals etc and everyone goes home happy.
It is a long season and we will drop more points. Hopefully so will other teams too.

The reaction today is akin to the Livi match last year but I think we played glade better today.

And they got the chance because we gave the guy space, we can’t create space in the box, always have someone on our shoulder.

Have calmed down a bit now, the last 15 minutes were frustrating as fuck.  Wright isn't good enough for our matchday squad right now imo and the jury is out on Sakala.  Our defence was weak as fuck for their goal, reminded me a bit of the goals we would concede pre-Gerrard.

The positives from today are that Bacuna actually looked like a not bad player when he came on.  Also, if someone had told me we would be 4 points clear of them after 6 games before the season then I would be happy with that.  The frustrating thing is we should be at least 6 points clear.  Anyway, they are 1 or 2 losses away from completely collapsing again.  We just need to close out games better and they will fall away.  Today very disappointing but I would much rather be in our position than theirs.

This is probably the best way to look at today. While not trying to paper over obvious cracks, maybe a bit of perspective is required just now.

he needs to realise at some point you can also change the shape mid match, not just throw players on and keep the same style of play that hasnt been working for the past 10 games. Its only ever our last sub that we put on in these games where suddenly we get this burst of intensity and throw the kitchen sink at teams.

Very true. Can't be easy being the player.

every team know how to play us, get that 4-3-3 to fuck,  we are always going out wide because teams force us out there and gobble up the crosses.

Borna

Davis

simpson

all need replaced.

and McGregors fault for the goal.

i dont know why he didnt put his foot thro it, fucking kicking it out for a thro in just outside the box.

Why did Davis pass it back to him from about 25yrds out. No need what so ever!
