Sparta Prague statement on last night: Accuse Rangers of being xenophobic

Recommended Posts

Stop insulting our children! Stop abusing our children!

Dear sports fans,

we would like to thank Rangers FC for Thursday's fair sporting match in a Europa League match. It was an honour to welcome the famous and successful Scottish club, its players, implementation team and management managers to Prague and our stadium. We are convinced that they were satisfied with the service from the club.

We have contributed to make Rangers FC feel as safe as possible when staying in the Czech Republic. We have been involved in ensuring their protection together with the state security forces and have taken steps that go far beyond the standard procedures for organising international matches.

It is absolutely unbelievable that after the game we have to watch the attacks on innocent children and we are facing unfounded accusations of racism. Insulting children online and in the media is unacceptable, desperate and ridiculous.

Stop attacking our children! Our club will defend the children, our future and our pride proudly. Slyly children in the online space is extremely cowardly.

We are following unprecedented xenophobic statements against the Czech Republic, its citizens and even its children in the social media environment and in the media space. You're misrepresenting the behavior of children, you're appropriating the right to evaluate the expression of emotions of six-year-olds who have no idea what racism is. It's impudence.

Unfortunately, we have to read the desperate attacks of lawyer Aamer Anwar, who is going beyond what a lawyer should afford. In the Czech environment, his actions would already be dealt with by the Bar Association. His activist approach and online bullying should be addressed by the relevant institution in Scotland. Induceing xenophobic tendencies and verbal attacks on defenseless children are at the edge of morality and decent manners.

Finally, on behalf of the club's board of directors, players, coaches and all employees, we would like to thank the children for the amazing and unrepeatable atmosphere. Thank you, we love you. Thanks and expressions of respect are also due to the parents who allowed their sons and daughters to visit, as well as the coaches and teachers who came to Letna as an escort and significantly participated in the smooth organization of the match. This match will go down in the history of the club in a positive way.

We ask rangers fc representatives to take part in stopping the xenophobic atmosphere towards our children, our beautiful country and its people.
