It certainly is not meaningless.

The governing body of the game held an in depth, independent review of this subject in Scottish football.

Their conclusion, although not binding on any court, made it clear that the parent club has ultimate responsibility for the boys/youth teams bearing the club’s name and wearing their colours and badge.

There is no way that a judge will simply disregard the independent findings of the governing body. Why on earth would he?

Binding, no - but certainly influential.

The report will almost certainly be looked at and used as a reference on what the governing body believe makes a connection .

Pretty sure they are hoping they can squirm out on the seperate entity .Having seperate boards accounts etc .But the SFAs report says as far as they are concerned they are under the same sporting banner .

@Colin Traive

Ok I accept that you know more about this subject than I do.

I’m no expert mate but it seems reasonable to assume that the conclusions of a detailed, independent report ordered by the neutral governing body (no sniggering, please) and unrelated to this class action, must carry some weight as the judge considers the evidence.

Of course, if it’s the Rt Hon Seamus Devlin O’Flaherty in the chair, it could go either way…..

One of those anomalies particular to modern Scotland where you can be shocked and not surprised at whatever decision is made 🤔

I would imagine a quick swatch at national insurance contributions made from 1966 onward showing that 4 convicted abusers  at cbc were on cfc's payroll will blow away any separate entity nonsense

P#1 was allowed back in an "administritive role" in the boys club........

Yet he was on the testimonial committee of several stars including Davie Provo and kit msn Nellie Mochan.

Seperate entity my arse!

This man was deemed fit and proper to lead an enquiry into child abuse.

This man worked with one of Scotlands worst Paedophiles at the LBGTQ nerwork.

Stinking innit

An investigation set up to find what it was told to find .

Evidence of cross border trafficking ignored and not contained in the report .

Good inquiry that .

You would think that anybody trusted with such a revelation would have been all over that and called in reserves to widen the investigation.

The whole thing was a sham and left a lot of unanswered questions

When it comes to the punishment of this vile club  lets hope the SFA still hold that same view.

You'd imagine this would fuck them, or at least put a big dent in them, but this is Scotland, so...

The 25 will only be a test case , its the tip of the iceberg, the compensation wont sink them, the real damage will be their guilt being paraded around the world, cant see this not impacting future sponsorships kit deals ect.

Any other business that has enabled and covered up the activities of up to 14 paedophiles over 50 years and put their brand before protecting hundreds of victims would be raised to the ground, wont happen obv, domestically, excuses will be found but internationally and in corporate circles you would wonder who would want  their brand linked to that?

That's where the real dent will come.

Any sponsors bailing on them yet?  Hmmm. Fucking enablers if not.

Once the truth of what went on there comes tumbling out  these sponsors will be having serious doubts about doing any business with them.

Who would do business with paedophiles?

Oh wait........
