Saudi takeover of Newcastle United

Looks like it will be finalised today.

Saudi money dwarfs that of the Qataris behind PSG and the Emiratis behind City. Its on a whole other scale. Politics and all that’s to be to be said about blood money/human rights abuses aside, here’s the big question:

How long until Newcastle win the league?

They’re going to be serious contenders for some of the biggest names in world football in the near future. Money talks.

Haaland in black and white?

Can’t wait to see the number of alleged “boyhood” Newcastle fans suddenly skyrocket in the next decade.

Looking past the morality of getting in bed with the Saudi’s, their fans are pretty king suffering and deserve to see a successful team on the park, so if the Saudi’s allow that to happen then it’ll be good for them.

Can’t stand Newcastle or their shite support.

They have this weird delusion engrained in them from birth that they’re owed something, when in reality they’ve always been utter garbage. Hope it goes tits up

I used to quite like Newcastle until I met Newcastle fans

It is a big club, partly because there’s nothing else to challenge people supporting them locally.

The mid 90s made them feel like a big club, ironically because John Hall had so much money he could break the world transfer record for Shearer. But there’s always bigger fish and they became one of the pack very quickly afterwards.

They need to win something, as it’s been about 60 years since they last did and you can’t claim to be a big club without a trophy for that long. Atmospheres one of the better in English football, but it’s still pretty average compared to Ibrox

They could have as much money as they liked, enticing Neymar to leave Paris and head to he cultural hub that is Newcastle might be an issue though.

£1m a week would change his mind I'm sure
