I'd love Rangers to be taken over by some super rich consortium. We should contact the Saudis and look for a solidarity payment for dealing with Ashley.

Just the 2 billion dollar will be fine

We'd win every game about 8-0 and ultimately everyone would lose interest. Fuck that.

Could you imagine.

You’d literally spontaneously combust if that happened pal!

We as a club are were we are because of the fans.

It would be great if some rich as croesus fucker bought us,  just to get one over on them, but that would kill football in Scotland.

Get you with the croesus. Always thought it was creases. @Thermopylae likes this.

Exactly, just look at City and nobody gives a toss.

St James’ Park has a 52000 capacity, could expand the Gallowgate End but still only get to 60000.  So prices go up and the average fan is priced out being replaced by the prawn sandwich brigade.  Atmosphere deteriorates and the average Geordie is left watching in the pub.

Yeah, the city of Newcastle itself is fine enough, and Northumberland is beautiful. It's everything south of Newcastle in the North East that is more or less a shithole, Sunderland and Middlesbrough in particular.

The city of Newcastle is actually a massive shithole now. The city centre is a shit tip. The likes of Shearer, Keegan all lived at Wynyard between Middlesbrough and Durham. Northumberland is decent but then you've got the likes of Blyth which was at one point the Heroin capital of the UK. Newcastle fans are clueless. Mike Ashley was their saviour years ago and now the Saudis will be the same until it all goes tits up which it will.

This is complete crap (apart from the bit about Blyth which is horrific).

Newcastle is a great city, I’ve lived in Glasgow, Plymouth, London, Exeter, Birmingham and it tops the lot. 10 years ago it was stag do capital, nowadays it’s full of top quality restaurants, bars and has more listed buildings per square meter than any other UK city.

Northumberland Coast is generally stunning once your past Bedlington, much better than Devons (although a bit colder). Tyne Valley/Hadrian’s Wall is only 20 minutes from the city, TV especially is where the likes of Fred Goodwin and a lot of other retired city bankers move to.

Shearer lives in Darras Hall, near Ponteland which is only about 6 miles out from the city. I love about 2 miles away, every man and his dog knows he lives there. Keegan lives abroad and is rarely in the UK at all these days. Most footballers for NUFC live either in Jesmond (not the student bit), Ponteland or Tynemouth.
