I doubt there was anything more than a very superficial look at this. Much more an acceptance that this attack failed so it's back to the drawing board bhoys.

Journalism in Scotland has hit an all time low. As I see it, it was the rise of the tabloids that brought this about. 40 years ago newspapers reported facts with the occasional opinion piece plus editorials. That was a working formula and people bought papers. Nowadays their views are irrelevant.  A few quality newspapers may survive (behind subscription walls) but tabloids have run their race and are done. At least I hope so.
