Popular Post cstamomusa 3,809
Broken hearted waking up to this news today. When I moved to the States in 1990 it was almost impossible to watch games, so I missed soo much of his time in charge. My mum sent me newspaper clippings so I could follow along. Self isolating last year allowed me to view a lot of old games and kept me going at a time without regular games. What a legend he was, the joy, the titles, and the players he gave to us was just immense. Today I am joined in sadness with Bears & Bearettes around the world and will toast to the Gaffer gone to soon. mearns loyal, SteveEarle, Sparkle and 13 others

He always came across as a good bloke and I was aware that players and colleagues thought very highly of him as a man, but it's definitely an extra level of insight that I have got today, watching clips of players like McFadden talking about him, from outside the perspective of Rangers. It sounds like Walter was a man who went out of his way for everybody. I feel a deep sense of regret that I will never have a chance to meet him. Mrs Bru and I have just been along to Ibrox with a scarf and both gates are now getting covered with tops, scarfs and flags. Many bunches of flowers also being laid, it will be a huge tribute by tomorrow night. He’s such a good speaker and put into words so much of what we are all thinking. Also i’m glad that he and Graeme got to see Walter on Saturday. Kents_Hook 1,413
I just woke up to the news sir walter passed away, when i saw the news on twitter i was hoping it was some sick joke but then i saw Rangers official twitter posted it my heart sank, there's not a lot that can be said that hasn't already been said..........I never thought in my wildest dreams would we go from the horrible tenure that was le guen to being guided to the uefa cup final under ally, kenny and walter then go on to win 3 league championships followed by some incredible cup wins and moments. Stepdaughters birthday today, so started the day wishing happy birthday to her, only to find out about the passing of Sir Walter.
