Soldier blue 563
Utterly devastated on hearing the passing of the legend that was Walter Smith. Had the honour of meeting him socially and he was an absolute gentleman, a true blue. Heartfelt condolences to his family, we will all remember him with great affection. debs1970
Colin Traive 22,741
Anyone got a link to the pictures from the recent golf day he attended? Looked frail but happy that day as I recall.

goaaaal 946
Sore on An Absolute Legend of a man for The Rangers & latterly Scotland . He finished off the way he started at Rangers as a Winner 9iar especially then his Treble of League Titles with a lesser team getting to Manchester. I thought this was really touching. The sincerity is clear right there.

King Jela 20,361
Just scrolled past the Sky Sports tweet about it and actually seeing his face next to the words 'passed away' is enough to break you into tears. Just can't be true. Colin Traive
weejoseph 2,773
Heartbroken. Walter Smith OBE was THE Rangers manager to me, from growing up as a kid watching to being old enough to follow his side home and away. We will never see the likes again. Thank you for the Memories Walter, RIP.
falkirkNS 6,298
Brought up through the 80s,90s and on Walters return in the 00s. Walter is the very reason we are all greedy for success and exspect victories and trophies. It was Walter who instilled that, that simply cannot be bought. He was Mr Rangers and our modern day Struth or as close as can be, he installed the traditions required to be a Ranger and every player who played under him knew this. A sad and dark day overall for Scottish fitba, his work for the national side also cannot go unnoticed. A stalwart to Scotland and football. A giant has passed, no more pain Walter, at ease Sir debs1970 and MonTheGers
BlueKnight87 17,282
Absolutely gutted with this news. The greatest manager ever at Rangers. No one will ever come close to what this legend did for us. Rest in peace Sir Walter
GetToTheChoppa 6,873
Doubt we'd have seen the likes of Laudrup and Gazza without him. Rest easy gaffer.
