Popular Post ElBufalo20 7,875
The 92/93 season basically a champions league semi final too. 9 in a row Signing Gazza and Laudrup. Coming back to us after the Le Guen debacle. 3 in a row That night in Florence. Winning a Cup Final with 9 men at 0-0(which actually doesn’t get talked about enough) Just a legend bowed out gracefully at with the league trophy at Rugby Park. Given us some of the best days of our lives. Bearsinblue, Bad Robot, bornabear and 15 others
Popular Post KingKirk 25,602
His second spell puts him into the same category as struth and Waddell. Walter was all I've ever known at Rangers. How he won us 3 league titles under the grip of the Bank I'll never know. Then to take that group of players to a European final incredible. There won't ever be another Walter Smith in the modern era he's the greatest. bluenoz 30,679
The memories of coaching players like Gazza & Laudrup are unforgettable. But listening to SSB right now and Kenny Miller saying he made him feel 10ft tall reminded me of 2008. On paper, we had no right to get to Manchester with players like Dailly, Broadfoot etc but he brought the best out of them and every other player. He gained respect from everyone around him. A colossal of a man. BallochBear, AlbertzLoyalRSC, only14me and 1 other

Dave Whelan 138
How he managed a team of good players, not great players to a European Final in 2008, shows just how brilliant a manager he was falkirkNS

G.E.C. 18,711
So many, UEFA CUP run, beating Lyon 3-0 and the 8 trophies. One of my favourite memories was a spell we had in December 2009. We played 4-4-2 with four strikers and played some amazing attacking football, destroyed every team we faced. Was key to us winning 2IAR. A colossal of a man. He could take a limited player like Kirk Broadfoot, find a role for him and get him do it the absolute best of the ability he had and on the other end of the scale he could take a player like Gazza, somebody who needed no coaching at all, but needed that arm around the shoulder to make him feel wanted and like he belonged. His genius as a manager wasn’t his tactical knowledge in games or his coaching drills on the training park, it was his ability to manage people and having that knack for reading and truly understanding people is IMO what truly set him apart as a Rangers manager. bluenoz, BridgeIsBlue, bornabear and 4 others

Canabear 4,558
The one abiding memory I have , from so many , is the one from the SC Semi Final at the bheastdome when Jorg Albertz waltzed half the length of the park and thundered that unstoppable shot into the roof of the net and the camera swings to the dugout and there is Walter Smith watching Albertz run intently and when the ball hits the net there is Walter punching the air and shouting "Ya Fuckin Beauty". A moment I'll never ever forget. AlbertzLoyalRSC, LaaRFC, bornabear and 1 other
