Frankfurt players, coach, tactics

Recommended Posts

I know very little about Frankfurt other than watching highlights of their last couple of Europa league games and doing a quick Google search.

Starting this topic for those with knowledge of their teams/players strengths and weaknesses and how we should set up against them.

Evan N'Dicka at left centre back is supposedly a transfer target for various English clubs including Man United.

He'll be dangerous at set plays so  presumably it'll be Goldson marking him.

Knowing us at defending set pieces Scott Wright will be defending against N’Dicka

They seem to score many of their goals on counter attacks and have more wins away from home than in their own ground this season.

I think tactics could be very important for this game. It'll be interesting to see if we put out an attack minded team (that leaves us open to the counter). Or try a more defensive approach?

Injury updates:

"Hinteregger has suffered a major muscle injury, which means he is out for the season," said Frankfurt coach Oliver Glasner today.

"That's a shame for Martin and for us," added the coach.

Glasner also provided an injury update on Djibril Sow, Rafael Borre and Jens Petter Hauge.

"Djibril Sow broke his nose. We have to see how we deal with it, whether he gets a mask. Borre and Hauge are both feeling a bit of pinching. We will not risk any muscle injuries," he said.

It's going to be difficult.  Their star players or tactics dont matter. Their run to the final is more impressive than ours. Beaten west ham, Barcelona and betis as opposed to leipzig, braga and red star.

Conveniently left out Dortmund from the list off teams we have beaten. Suss. ::sherlock:

Our run to the final is has also been incredible but in the last 3 games there's has been better. However, if we play with the level of commitment and aggression that we have showed in the last 3 weeks I would fancy our chances👍
