Lack of planning in January cost us the league.

The same can’t be allowed to happen this summer. We absolutely must start our business  in next few weeks to give Gio a shot at getting us into the CL.

We have a good base.

If we can keep them and sell some of the others we can build a good team around Tav, Bassey, Lundstram, Kent, Morelos, Lowry. Add Arfield, Hagi, Helander as other guys that stay, and maybe a few more youngsters, and we have the basis of a decent squad.

Huge rebuild still though. Relies on the right guys wanting to stay and the right ones leaving too, though.

I know nothing about him, but the Deokhi thing isn't a great start if we were genuinely in for him.

There should be no excuses on money either.  10 or so Paterson and the European run should be all invested on players that not only enhance our team but replace those who leave and / or are not good enough. 
 

Never again should it be allowed for Rangers to have one striker who is 'good enough' to score goals for us.

Strikers and goal scoring midfielders, we wont win the league with the current crop.

Surprised Arfield got as new deal if any of the older players got a deal it would have been Davis for me.

May just be a coincidence but the SD case was settled 2/3 weeks after Patterson left.

Should start by signing two centre backs over and above souter, bassey has been excellent but in my eyes he's an attacking left back and now must take over from barisic.

As disappointing as last night was I’m quite excited about the future. The ‘new shiny toy’ is always more appealing than what feels and looks familiar but after four seasons this squad feels like it’s reached the end of its natural cycle now. There’s going to be a massive turnover and it should make for a fun summer being able to talk about the pros and cons of players we are linked with and sign. We absolutely need to do the majority of it quickly and decisively though. We can’t afford to be waiting until the final day of the window to make a move for our number one target.

Agree about strikers and midfielders and also agree about Davis.

Davis is bringing more to team than Jack just now.

We still have to spend wisely so we need to be sure what our youngsters can and can't do. If we can fill a few gaps with youngsters we can spend more on getting better quality new recruits

Big question now is funds.

We will need to sell (think we do anyway as we need to refresh things and a number of players are out of contract this time next year) but will the board back the manager on the basis that we make the group stages? That’s the big question now, last night would have made such a difference.

Aribo, Kamara, Barasic and Kent should be sold for any decent offer.

If Alfie not signing new deal then he’ll need to go too.

Roofe and Helander can go if anyone interested.

Most other clubs know what an injured player looks like , so nobody is paying cash for Roofe or Helander.

I do worry for next season.  This season we all thought we'd win the league. They were on turmoil, hired a nobody, start the season badly, honestly thought we'd win at a canter. Then January happend. The funds the CL would have generated would have been massive. I'm so gutted how things have transpired and the worst part is its been our own doing.

Yes I agree he should be gone based on the piss poor signing record of his football department. Wilson will simply blame Gio for the lack of success with his long list of great signings.

Jack struggles to complete 90 minutes now. Great player for us when he’s fit but much like Roofe and Helander his fitness can’t be relied on anymore.

We’ve brought in a few bob through Europa, we can budget on Europa league money next season too.

Don't think we need a massive rebuild tbh as we have the core of a good squad. What we do need is 4 quality players to come straight into the first team. Hopefully spend a bit of money to make that happen. New contract for Morelos also v important.
