Popular Post mitre_mouldmaster 21,511
He might not be good enough to be our long term No1, but I don't get the reason for the hate on him based on last night game. Yes a shot went by him that took a deflection. He then made a very good double save followed up by a brilliant 1v1 save with his foot near the end that would have put the tie beyond doubt. Last night the team played shit, but McLaughlin didn't do much wrong. Some people are genuinely losing the plot over last night's game, even with comments about McLaughlin being at fault for their second goal. Fucking madness on here. NixonRFC 1,586
He's the sole reason we're still in this tie, I don't think people are down on him personally it's just that seeing him on the pitch is a huge reminder that they club haven't strengthened an area of the pitch that was badly needed. Negativity breeds negativity. We go through next week and his performance last night will be lauded for a while. The No.9

Popular Post Guest
I think folk are annoyed he's our number 1 when it's very clear that he isn't quite at the level we need for Europe. Domestically I think he will be completely fine. plymouthranger, Valance1690, Bluekev and 4 others
Popular Post Inigo 33,338
There's no hate (from me anyway), he's just not good enough as a number 1. We've been spoiled in that department and he's not up to that level we're used to. will2203, bob1873, King Jela and 8 others
Laudrupsleftfoot 12,283
Bar the first goal he actually did really well. He absolutely had to save that though and I think it highlights he's just a bit short on the quality needed for this level. SeparateEntityMyArse 55,425
Didn't do himself favours at the Livi goal or the first yesterday. Those aside, played fine in both games. Still of the belief that he's a better option than McGregor, but he's not as good as shagger a few years ago or many of our previous keepers. We've almost always had better keepers than them across the city. Now, I'm not sure we have.
The Beast 9,503
We've been spoiled by the keepers we've had over the past 30 years or so. Is McLaughlin as good as Goram, McGregor, Klos, Woods etc in their prime? No of course not but he's probably the best we have right now. We should have went for Siegrist before he signed for the fenians imho. I did also notice that Austrian keeper is still a free agent. sassaaaa 11,406
If McCrorie cant get a game before these two I dont know why hes at the club. This was always going to be a problem this season , they had plenty of time to deal with it and they never. esquire8 45,320
Don't think he will cost us the same amount of points domestically as McGregor did last season. I'm still on the fence if Gio actually has picked him as #
Albeartzzz 200
Xander Clark is free and a Rangers fan…don’t think he’s near good enough but I find it hard to judge keepers In shit teams
GWR1979 2,038
Mclaughlin should have done much better with the first goal it was straight at him the slight deflection didn't change the direction of the ball. He had a couple of good saves but his latest run in the team has shown he's probably best placed as a second keeper and we should have went after a new no 1 because Mcgregor isn't the answer. rossco87

He done well in both games, nothing outstanding that should have put him in contention to be the new number 1 though. The defence and goal keeper situation worried me before the start of the season and I'm still worried. Big Jon will be fine domestically but we need better.
