Agreed.

His signing makes complete sense.

It's just not the kind of signing that excites you the way like a creative midfielder, winger or even a dominant aggressive centre half does.

It's the kind that happens and you then moan about having to replace with better for the next few years with the money you get from winning the championships you win with him in the squad.

Not if £4m figure is accurate it doesn’t.

We've had players like that in the past who have done a decent job Hemdani and Papac spring to mind. Guys who are a solid 7 out of 10 every week.

When all the CBs are fit again I can see Sands replacing Jack as the midfield enforcer with Kamara/another moping up and Tilman proving the attacking threat.

System we're playing looks good against an open team but interesting to see it against the usual back 10s we play against

That's where its going to be different for Beale from QPR, he needs to suss it out quickly

Heading in the odd corner is certainly a positive step.

The pressing and speed of attack we seen in the first half is also essential.

10 days and it's only a friendly however

Positives

2up look better organised and some of the football has been good.

Negatives

Still far to simple  to get free efforts at our goals  leverkusen should have a goal.

Harsh but it's something that needs sorted

To be fair there's not a lot that Beale can do about the defence at the moment. He's basically playing the 5th and 6th choice centre-backs and the 3rd choice left-back who is actually a right-back.
